National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $82 million to fund local arts projects and partnerships in the NEA's second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2016. Included in this announcement is an Art Works award of $14,000 to Ardea Arts for the creation ofBOUNCE The Basketball Opera. The Art Works category supports the creation of work and presentation of both new and existing work, lifelong learning in the arts, and public engagement with the arts through 13 arts disciplines or fields.

Local celebrity Marina Jurica blows into The Winter Park Playhouse this Fall showing off more than her television skills as she performs her solo cabaret ' Love and The Weather' in the theatre's popular Spotlight Cabaret Series, tonight and tomorrow, October 7 and 8, 2015. The critically acclaimed American Spiritual Ensemble will return to the William E. Schmidt Opera Theatre at the Sarasota Opera House on Saturday, September 6th at 7pm for a one night only performance celebrating the life of William E. Schmidt. The concert will be free and open to the public.

The 7th Annual Alltech Vocal Scholarship Competition awarded more than half a million dollars in scholarship prizes to fifteen students, coming from as far as Korea, who will be beginning their studies at the University of Kentucky this fall semester. Occurring once again at the University of Kentucky's Singletary Center for the Arts, the competition was emceed by 2011's Alltech graduate winner Julie LaDouceur and included performances from LaDouceur and 2011's undergraduate winner Andrew Miller.

The stakes are high at the 7th Annual Alltech Vocal Scholarship Competition, occurring once again at the University of Kentucky's Singletary Center for the Arts. On Sunday, March 4, from 2 to 5 p.m., sixteen hopeful students will compete for more than half a million dollars in scholarship prizes.
