Award-winning viral spoken word poet Patrick Roche presents a one-of-a-kind solo show interweaving his poems with stories and scenes from throughout his life. This show takes audiences on a journey through pop culture, queer identity, body image, a mental breakdown, sudden internet fame, therapists (both good and very bad) and more, balancing heartfelt explorations of mental health and grief with all the humor and unexpected levity that accompany his experiences. A Socially Acceptable Breakdown challenges everyone to understand, connect to, and laugh with each other even in the face of all of our many breakdowns.

La Mama E.T.C. presents the musical The Golem of Havana, a production of Columbia Stages, Palo de Agua and Theater of the Americas, now through September 8, 2013 at its downtown home (74 East 4th Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue, Subway: F/M to Second Avenue). BELLA'S DREAM, a new play with dance written and choreographed by Dana Boll, follows the true life story of Bella and Raymond Boll (the playwright's paternal grandparents), who heeding the advice of a dream, left their home in Poland, weeks before the Nazis invasion. Directed by Jessica Ammirati BELLA'S DREAM begins performances June 16 prior to an official press opening of June 18 at the Flamboyan Theater located at the Clemente Soto Velez Cultural & Educational Center (107 Suffolk Street) in Manhattan.
