Red Bull Theater's DANCE OF DEATH Begins Tomorrow

Red Bull Theater (Jesse Berger, Artistic Director) today announced that Derek Smith would join the cast for the American Premiere of a new adaptation of August Strindberg's The Dance of Death by Mike Poulton (Tony Award Nominee for Best Play for Fortune's Fool), directed by Joseph Hardy (Tony Award winner for Best Director for Child's Play). This strictly limited engagement begins Wednesday April 10th and continues through May 4th only, at the Lucille Lortel Theater (121 Christopher Street, between Bleecker and Hudson Streets). Opening Night is set for Thursday April 18th. Hardy directs a company that features Daniel Davis, Laila Robins, and Derek Smith.

MACBETH, Starring Alan Cumming, Begins Tonight on Broadway

Broadway's powerful new production of Shakespeare's Macbeth, starring Tony and Olivier Award winner and two-time Emmy Award nominee Alan Cumming (Cabaret, 'The Good Wife'), begins on Broadway tonight, April 7, 2013. Veteran stage actors Jenny Sterlin and Brendan Titley complete the cast.

Classic Stage Company's THE CAUCASIAN CHALK CIRCLE Will Feature Elizabeth A. Davis, Mary Testa and More

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, will present a new production of Bertolt Brecht's THE CAUCASIAN CHALK CIRCLE featuring Christopher Lloyd (Azdak), directed by Brian Kulick (who directed Brecht's Galileo last season), and featuring new music by Tony Award-winning singer/songwriter Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening). THE CAUCASIAN CHALK CIRCLE will begin performances Friday, May 3 at CSC (136 East 13th Street) for a limited engagement through Sunday, June 9. The official opening is Thursday, May 30. Tickets are now on sale.

Signal Ensemble Theatre to End 10th Anniversary Season with LASCIVIOUS SOMETHING, Beg. 5/2

Signal Ensemble Theatre ends their Tenth Anniversary 2012-2013 Season with their final production, the Chicago premiere of Lascivious Something, at Signal Ensemble Theatre, 1802 West Berenice Ave. Lascivious Something is written by Sheila Callaghan and is directed by Signal Ensemble member and Co-Artistic Director Ronan Marra.

Signal Ensemble Theatre Presents LASCIVIOUS SOMETHING, 5/2-6/8

Signal Ensemble Theatre ends their Tenth Anniversary 2012-2013 Season with their final production, the Chicago premiere of Lascivious Something, at Signal Ensemble Theatre, 1802 West Berenice Ave. Lascivious Something is written by Sheila Callaghan and is directed by Signal Ensemble member and Co-Artistic Director Ronan Marra. Performances will regularly run Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Preview performances are on Thursday, May 2 and Friday, May 3 at 8 p.m., followed by opening/press night on Saturday, May 4 at 8 p.m. Regular ticket prices are $20 for single tickets, $15 for industry/students/seniors/groups and $10 for previews. Combat Veterans and Scholars Set for Post-Show Talk Backs at Aquila's HERAKLES at BAM, Beg. Today

As part of Aquila Theatre's National Endowment for the Humanities Chairman Special Award 3 year public program, Ancient Greeks / Modern Lives, four post-performance talks will be held after each performance of Herakles at BAM Fisher. Noted scholars will join combat veterans who have been involved in the project to discuss the themes of the play as they relate to the experience of the veteran community in America today and the wider society within which they live.

New Federal Theatre to Present The First NY Revival of PLENTY OF TIME, Beginning 4/4

Woodie King Jr's New Federal Theatre, in association with Castillo Theatre, will present Plenty of Time by John Shevin Foster at the Castillo Theatre (543 West 42nd Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues.). Performances begin April 4th with Opening Night set for Thursday, April 18th. Performances continue through May 5th only.

DETROIT '67 Heads to Harlem Following Run at The Public Theater, Now thru 4/14

Following its run at The Public Theater, Detroit '67, the much buzzed-about play by two-time NAACP Image Award recipient, Dominique Morisseau, will open at the National Black Theatre tonight, March 23. Directed by Kwame Kwei-Armah, the powerful drama will run through Sunday, April 14, presented by Time Warner. Billed as 'Uptown Meets Downtown,' the production is a collaboration between the Classical Theatre of Harlem (Ty Jones, Producing Artistic Director), National Black Theatre (Sade Lythcott, CEO; Nabii Faison, General Manager and The Public Theater (Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director; Patrick Willingham, Executive Director).

The Public's HERE LIES LOVE Extends Through May 19

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced a two week extension today for the world premiere musical HERE LIES LOVE, with concept and lyrics by David Byrne, music by David Byrne and Fatboy Slim, additional music by Tom Gandey and J Pardo, and choreography by Annie-B Parson. Directed by Alex Timbers, HERE LIES LOVE begins performances on Tuesday, April 2 and was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, May 5. It will now run an additional two weeks through Sunday, May 19.

The Queens Players in association with Femme Fatale Theater presents Euripides' timeless tragedy The Bacchae,in a production dripping with a sense of foreboding dark comedy and sexual menance this March 28th through April 13th at The Secret Theatre in Long Island City, Queens. Femme Fatale Theater Co-Founder Robert Ribar directs a cast lead by Peter Oliver ('Law & Order: Special Victims Unit') as the seductive god Dionysus and Michael Axelrod (The Flea's Restoration Comedy) as the doomed king Pentheus in a production that features an all-male chorus and an original ambient music score employing viola, clarinet and Gregorian chant.
