Barrel of Monkeys celebrates its 20th anniversary of arts education in Chicago Public Schools with a special one-night-only event: KIDS WRITE IT: 20 YEARS OF INTERGENERATIONAL STORYTELLING, featuring student-written stories from each of its 20 years, performed by the company's talented team of actor-educators, directed by Artistic Director Joseph Schupbach and co-directed by Co-Founder/Former Artistic Director Halena Kays. KIDS WRITE IT will be held on Thursday, July 27 at 7:30 pm at The Athenaeum Theatre Main Stage, 2936 N. American Blues Theater Extends LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS Through July

Due to overwhelming demand, American Blues Theater has again extended Little Shop of Horrors, the comedic rock musical with book and lyrics by Howard Ashman, music by Alan Menken, directed by Jonathan Berry, and music direction by Ensemble member Austin Cook. Little Shop of Horrors now runs through July 31, 2016 at the Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. in Chicago. Tickets to Little Shop of Horrors extension (July 1-31) are on sale Monday, May 31 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased by phone at 773-404-7336 or online at www.americanbluestheater.com.  Tickets for the regular run are on sale now.

The House Theatre of Chicago presents the The Revel at the Chopin Theatre Upstairs Theatre, 1543 W. Division St., tonight, Sept. 4 - Sunday, Oct. 25. The play was adapted by returning guest artist Damon Kiely, with music by Chicago composer Jess McIntosh, and will be directed and choreographed by Leslie Buxbaum Danzig of 500 Clown and dance-theatre company Lucky Plush Productions in her House Theatre debut. ATC Extends THE PROJECT(S)

To accommodate high demand for tickets, American Theater Company (ATC) has extended the run of its critically acclaimed world premiere The Project(s) four weeks through June 21, 2015. Conceived, co-written and directed by ATC Artistic Director PJ Paparelli and co-written by Joshua Jaeger, The Project(s) was initially scheduled to close on May 24. The documentary play about the history of public housing in Chicago features an ensemble cast of Linda Bright Clay, Stephen Conrad Moore, Omar Evans, Kenn E. Head, Joslyn Jones, Penelope Walker, Anji White and Eunice Woods. Single tickets for The Project(s) range from $43-$48 and are now on sale at the ATC box office at 773-409-4125 or www.atcweb.org. ATC to Bring THE PROJECT(S) 'The Project(s)to Cabrini-Green & Wentworth Gardens

American Theater Company (ATC) announces a special community tour of The Project(s), a world premiere documentary play about the history of public housing in Chicago, to the Cabrini-Green and Wentworth Gardens neighborhoods this month. Free public performances will be held at Edward Jenner Elementary Academy of the Arts on May 17 at 6 p.m. and Wentworth Gardens Field house on May 24 at 5 p.m. Seating for both performances will be available on a first come, first served basis.
