The Dusti Bongé Art Foundation (DBAF/the Foundation) is publishing a digital catalogue raisonné to enable further research and document Dusti Bongé's (1903-1993) complete oeuvre on the occasion of the Foundation's 30th Anniversary.
Considered Mississippi’s first artist to work consistently in a Modernist style, Dusti Bongé (1903–93) was active in New York’s dynamic art scene and creative communities which flourished along the Gulf Coast in the 1930s through the early 1990s.
The Creole cottage on Biloxi's Rue Magnolia holds a collection of small jewels. Playing with color, contrast and form, the many untitled works of Dusti Bongè found in the Dusti Bongè Art Foundation are tantalizing glimpses into the world of an artist not well known outside the Coast.
