For its ninth season, the Northern New England Repertory Theatre Company (NNE Rep) will present Henrik Ibsen's powerful drama, Hedda Gabler. The Ibsen classic will run for seven performances, May 30 through June 8, in the Sawyer Center Theater at Colby-Sawyer College in New London.

Broadway's Danny Quadrino (Bye Bye Birdie), Andrea Ross (Whistle Down The Wind) and Lindsey Carothers (Bring It On) are among the cast of Pace University students for a one night only concert of songs and monologues by award-winning theater writer Drew Fornarola (COLLEGE The Musical, Molly Shannon's Tilly The Trickster). The show plays at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre (61 Christopher Street at 7th Ave) tonight, April 22nd at 9:30pm. The evening is curated and directed by Joshua W. Kelley, with music direction by Addison O'Donnell, and stage managed by Coleman Annison.

Creator/Producer Judy Craymer has announced that MAMMA MIA!, the global smash hit musical based on the songs of ABBA, will transfer from the Winter Garden Theatre to the Broadhurst Theatre in late 2013.

The NATIONAL NEW PLAY NETWORK (NNPN), the country's alliance of non-profit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, announces the 15th Anniversary Celebration performances of Permanent Collection by Thomas Gibbons. A staged reading of the original Rolling World Premiere will be presented on Monday, April 22 at Core Member Theaters across the country, including Actor's Theatre of Charlotte (Charlotte, NC), InterAct Theatre Company (Philadelphia, PA), Kitchen Dog Theater (Dallas, TX), Riverside Theatre (Iowa City, IA), Salt Lake Acting Company (Salt Lake City, UT), and Unicorn Theatre (Kansas City, MO). Gibbons' award-winning play has gone on to more than 30 productions across the country and around the world since it was first produced in 2003.

The Planet Connections Theatre Festivity presents Walden, a story-theatre style musical adaptation of Thoreau's best seller, featuring his work on the underground railroad and his star-crossed romance. Six performances for Walden will be held at the Robert Moss Theatre, 440 Lafayette Street, NYC from May 29-June 15 as part of The Planet Connections Theatre Festivity. The Festivity will take place May 29th through June 23rd at Gene Frankel and Robert Moss Theatres in New York City.

Atlantic Theater Company has announced that Olivier and two time Tony Award winning playwright John Guare will make his Off Broadway acting debut in the world premiere production of his new play 3 KINDS OF EXILE, directed by Atlantic artistic director Neil Pepe, featuring Atlantic ensemble members Peter Maloney and David Pittu and guest artists Alison Cimmet, Jeffrey Kuhn, Jacquelyn Landgraf, Martin Moran, Kate Rigg, Omar Sangare and Timothy Splain.

Irish Repertory Theatre continues its 25th Anniversary Season with The Weir by Conor McPherson, author of SHINING CITY and THE SEAFARER - with previews set to begin May 15, prior to an official Off-Broadway opening May 23 on the Irish Repertory's Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage (132 West 22nd Street). Directed by Ciaran O'Reilly, performances are set to run through July 7.

Guthrie Director Joe Dowling today announced 12 mainstage productions of the theater's 2013-2014 season. A tiger has broken loose from the local zoo, but Sherry has bigger problems. She's a recent college graduate with a master's degree in art therapy. But like so many 20-somethings who find themselves back at home, here she sits, unemployed, overwhelmed and dealing with her depressed family. Today in 2003, the first Broadway revival of Nine opened at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, where it ran for 283 performances. Nine is a musical with a book by Arthur Kopit, music and lyrics by Maury Yeston. The story is based on Federico Fellini's semi-autobiographical film 8½. It focuses on film director Guido Contini, who is dreading his imminent 40th birthday and is facing a midlife crisis, which is blocking his creative impulses and entangling him in a web of romantic difficulties in early-1960s Venice. The original Broadway production opened in 1982 and ran for 729 performances, starring Raul Julia. The musical won five Tony Awards, including best musical, and has enjoyed a number of revivals.
