The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) Professor Michael Burnham has been a faculty member since 1984 and when asked about his many years of work for CCM, he muses, simply, 'I liked all of them.' He will retire this month, following the conclusion of the school year and his work as director for CCM's upcoming production of Execution of Justice, which runs April 18-20 as part of this year's Studio Series.
The Flea Theater will present the New York Premiere of WHITE HOT by Tommy Smith (Pigeon, The Wife). It is directed by Courtney Ulrich and stars The Bats. Performances run April 26 - May 26 at The Flea (41 White Street between Church and Broadway in Tribeca).
The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center is set to honor Christopher Plummer at a gala event Monday evening, April 15th in New York City. The 13th Annual Monte Cristo Award will be presented to Mr. Plummer by fellow stage and film legend Kevin Spacey. Mr. Spacey was the recipient of the Monte Cristo Award in 2009. Red carpet and cocktails begin at 6:30pm at the Edison Ballroom on West 47th Street, followed by dinner, and a program celebrating the honoree.

The Gala co-chairs are playwright Lydia R. Diamond and interior designer Jasmine M. Keller. The Gala honorary chairs are Anne Kaufman, Obie award-winning director; Nelle Nugent, Broadway producer; Judith O. Rubin, chairman of the board of Playwrights Horizons; and Liz Smith, columnist and 'The Grand Dame of Dish'.

Fountain Hills Theater has announced the opening of the Film Noir musical, Gunmetal Blues. Created by acclaimed Valley composer, Craig Bohmler, Gunmetal Blues is a hard-boiled detective tale disguised as a lounge act---or the other way around? Direct from the Red Eye Lounge, Buddy Toupee tickles the ivories and serves up plot concoctions like a Chandleresque Greek chorus. The private eye searches for a missing blonde through a double-dealing world of smoky bars, rain-slicked streets and more blondes. This quest lures the audience to an unnamed city of mystery, music and demolished dreams.

The National Tour of The Book of Mormon has continually broken house records across the country since opening in Denver in the summer of 2012. The Chicago production of The Book of Mormon holds the house record at the Bank of America Theatre. Perseverance Theatre, with license from the American Foundation for Equal Rights, (AFER) and Broadway Impact, announces a one-night-only staged reading of '8,' at 7 pm tonight, April 1 at Centennial Hall in Juneau. The funds raised at this benefit performance will be shared by Perseverance Theatre, Juneau Pride Chorus, and the Pride Foundation.
According to a casting notcice, Edward Hibbert and Wesley Taylor have signed on to star in an upcoming off-Broadway revival of Sidney Howard's 1926 play THE SILVER CORD at The Peccadillo Theater Company. A staged reading for the show was held in January featuring Tayor alongside Charles Busch Dan Wackerman, Jessie Austrian, Molly Camp, and Robert Eli. The production will run May 15 through June 23.
