Vineyard's Co-Production of INDECENT Begins Performances Next Month Off-Broadway

Vineyard Theatre, in association with La Jolla Playhouse and Yale Repertory Theatre, will present the New York premiere of INDECENT, a new play with music, written by Paula Vogel, created by Paula Vogel and Rebecca Taichman, and directed by Rebecca Taichman, at The Vineyard (108 East 15th Street) with previews beginning April 27 and opening night set for May 17. INDECENT features music composed by Lisa Gutkin (KLEZMATICS) and Aaron Halva (RED NOSES) and choreography by David Dorfman (GREEN VIOLIN). 

Rough Readings of MERCURY Set for Custom Made Theatre, 3/14-15

Playwrights Foundation and the National Center for New Plays at Stanford present A March Rough Reading of Mercury by Steve Yockey on Monday, March 14 - 7:30pm at Stanford and Tuesday, March 15 - 2:00pm at Custom Made Theatre in San Francisco.

Amios to Present FIRST DRAUGHTS Reading Series This Month

First Draughts is a developmental reading series produced by Amios, a theater collective whose mission is to build community through art. First Draughts is dedicated to expanding first produced at Shotz (Amios' monthly short-play series) into full-length plays over the course of a six-month development process.

Anna Fitzgerald's REVERSE CASCADE Brings Intricate Puppetry to The Tank Tonight

REVERSE CASCADE - a play by Anna Fitzgerald featuring intricate puppetry - will be given its New York premiere by The Tank theater company. REVERSE CASCADE opens tonight, March 3rd, at The Tank's main stage located at 151 West 46th Street on the 8th Floor. The performance is scheduled to run through March 13th 2016.

Jamil Khoury's MOSQUE ALERT to Premiere at Silk Road Rising This Spring

Black Comedy DINNER AT HOME BETWEEN DEATHS to Play Odyssey Theatre This Spring

High finance, family dysfunction, death -- and laughs. The world premiere of DINNER AT HOME BETWEEN DEATHS, a pitch-black comedy by Andrea Lepcio (Looking for the Pony), directed by Stuart Ross (Forever Plaid) and presented by Indie Chi Productions, opens as a guest production at the Odyssey Theatre on April 2.

MRT to Premiere New Idris Goodwin Break Beat Play

Merrimack Repertory Theatre continues its 2015-16 Season with the world premiere of "The Realness: a break beat play," the latest work from renowned playwright and hip-hop artist Idris Goodwin. The love story at the center of "The Realness" lets us view the seismic events of the mid-90's hip-hop scene insightfully, through a compassionate human lens. Audiences will see this world through the eyes of T.O., who immerses himself in the hip-hop culture he's only observed from the safety of the suburbs, and falls hard for a captivating MC. Wendy Goldberg, head of the National Playwrights Conference at The Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center, will direct. The production is supported, in part, by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts' Art Works program.

Roundabout Theatre Company Launches $50 Million Anniversary Campaign

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) and the Board of Directors (Tom Tuft, Chairman) have embarked on a $50 million Anniversary Campaign to ensure the future of the 50- year- old not-for-profit institution. The campaign was announced last night at Roundabout's Spring Gala at the Waldorf Astoria, honoring six-time Tony Award-winner Audra McDonald and Chairman Tom Tuft.

Clubbed Thumb Announces SUMMERWORKS Festival Lineup

?Five-time Obie Award-winning theater company Clubbed Thumb has announced the line-up for SUMMERWORKS, its annual series of new plays. Now in its 21st season, SUMMERWORKS will run May 27 through July 9 at The Wild Project (195 E 3rd Street) in Manhattan, and will feature productions of three new plays: EVERY ANGEL IS BRUTAL by Julia Jarcho and directed by Knud Adams; THE TOMB OF KING TOT by Eric Dufault and directed by Portia Krieger; and TUMACHO by Ethan Lipton and directed by Leigh Silverman. East Lynne Theater Announces Free & Discounted Shows in March

Just because East Lynne Theater Company isn't currently producing weekly shows in Cape May doesn't mean the company is idle. During the winter, there are Murder Mystery Weekends at The Henry Sawyer Inn, touring shows on the road, and the New Jersey Theatre Alliance's (NJTA) 'Stages Festival' in March. 

Dallas Area High School Presents Regional World Premiere of PROSPECT HIGH: BROOKLYN This Weekend

Roundabout Theatre Company and Education at Roundabout recently selected Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy to present the regional premiere of PROSPECT HIGH: BROOKLYN as a special selection in the WaterTower Theatre Out of the Loop Fringe Festival. Written by Daniel Robert Sullivan and a team of New York City teenagers, Prospect High: Brooklyn was developed in partnership with Education at Roundabout and the Fox Foundation Resident Actor Fellowships. The play will have its world premiere in 23 high school productions across the country, September 2015 - May 2016. Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy presents the play at the festival today, February 27th at 8:00 PM and tomorrow, February 28th at 5:00 PM. Photo Flash: First Look at Buckland Theatre Co.'s MISS JULIE

Buckland Theatre Co. launches as a full-scale producing company with a powerful new version of August Strindberg's MISS JULIE. MISS JULIE is currently running at Camden's Etcetera Theatre, taking over the space entirely for the duration of its four-week run. Directed by Gary Condes, with Set and Costume design by Carla Goodman and Lighting and Sound design by Joe Price, the production will feature Laura Greenwood as Miss Julie, Charlie Dorfman as Jean and Danielle Henry as Kristin. Minneapolis High School to Present Regional World Premiere of PROSPECT HIGH: BROOKLYN

Roundabout Theatre Company have announced that Southwest High School in Minneapolis, MN will present the regional premiere of PROSPECT HIGH: BROOKLYN. Written by Daniel Robert Sullivan and a team of New York City teenagers, Prospect High: Brooklyn was developed in partnership with Education at Roundabout and the Fox Foundation Resident Actor Fellowships. The play will have its world premiere in 23 high school productions across the country, September 2015 - May 2016. Southwest High School will present the play on February 24th, 25th, and 26th at 7:00 PM at 3414 47th St. W, Minneapolis, MN 55410. The suggested donation is $10 for adults and $5 for students, as the entire production will serve as a fundraiser for the fine arts department's trip to New York City. Broadway Revival of Tony-Winning Musical FALSETTOS Will Bow This Fall; James Lapine on Board to Direct

This fall, Lincoln Center Theater will join forces with Jujamcyn Theaters to bring William Finn and James Lapine's Tony Award-winning musical Falsettos back to Broadway, it was announced today. Falsettos will begin previews Thursday, September 29 and open on Thursday, October 27 at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48 Street). Lapine will return to helm the production.
