Fred Ebb Foundation Donates Over $1.6 Million to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids

The Fred Ebb Foundation has announced that its 2016 donation to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS will total $1.675 million dollars, bringing the foundation's total contribution to BC/EFA to $13.325 million since it began 12 years ago. The foundation, which is funded by royalties from the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb's vast catalogue of work, makes an annual donation to BC/EFA.

O'Neill National Music Theater Conference Artistic Director Steps Down After 40 years

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center announced today that Paulette Haupt, founding Artistic Director of its National Music Theater Conference, will step down following the 2017 season, after 40 years leading the program. The program began in 1978 after George C. White, founder of the O'Neill, invited Ms. Haupt to launch a new development program for music theater, in a similar mold to the O'Neill's groundbreaking National Playwrights Conference, launched in 1964.

12th Annual Fred Ebb Award Presented Tonight to Thomas Mizer & Curtis Moore

The Fred Ebb Foundation (Mitchell S. Bernard, Trustee) in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) will present the twelfth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Thomas Mizer and Curtis Moore, tonight from 6-8pm at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lounge of The American Airlines Theater. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, will be presented by Marin Mazzie and Jason Danieley.

Andrew Keltz Makes NYC Solo Cabaret Debut

Andrew Keltz makes his New York City solo debut with a show at the Laurie Beechman Theatre on November 22 at 9:30pm. This cabaret, dubbed THIRTY THANKSGIVINGS, will include songs and stories of food, family, and friendship. All net proceeds will be donated to City Harvest - rescuing food for New York's hungry. Composer and lyricist Tyler Beattie joins Andrew as music director.

Ben Rimalower to Return to The Duplex with PATTI ISSUES / BAD WITH MONEY Double Bill

Ben Rimalower brings back his acclaimed long-running solo plays, PATTI ISSUES (about his obsession with Broadway diva Patti LuPone and his relationship with his troubled gay father) and BAD WITH MONEY (about how an addiction to spending beyond his means has driven him to extreme lengths all his life) at The Duplex (61 Christopher Street at Seventh Avenue) today, November 19th and Monday, December 19th. 

Everyman Theatre Brings Colman Domingo's New Holiday Comedy DOT to Baltimore This December

After its hit premiere at the Humana Festival of New Plays and a critically lauded Off Broadway production, playwright and actor Colman Domingo's comedy-drama DOT will open to audiences in Baltimore at Everyman Theatre. Directed by Founding Artistic Director Vincent M. Lancisi, the production features acclaimed actress Sharon Hope in the title role of Dotty, joined by Resident Company members Megan Anderson and Dawn Ursula. It will run from December 7, 2016 to January 8, 2017.

The Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry Presents OBJECT, IMAGE, TEXT: THE BREAD AND PUPPET PRESS

As part of the 2016 Fall Puppet Forum Series, the Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry at the University of Connecticut will present Object, Image, Text: The Bread & Puppet Press, a discussion with Max Schumann, Executive Director of New York City's Printed Matter; and Clare Dolan, the founder and Chief Operating Philosopher of Vermont's Museum of Everyday Life. The forum will take place Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 7 p.m. in the Ballard Institute Theater, located at 1 Royce Circle in Storrs Center.

Accepting Submissions for 2017 National Music Theater Conference

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, a two-time Tony Award winner and latest recipient of the National Medal of Arts, is now accepting projects for development during the 2017 National Music Theater Conference. Applicants may submit music theater works for consideration through Friday, November 18th, 2016.
