Photo Coverage: World Premiere of A Moment in Time by Stewart F. Lane and John Denver

Utilizing songs from John Denver, one of America's most cherished songwriters and performers, A MOMENT IN TIME, is about a marine in Afghanistan who, moments before a battle, recalls a safer, happier place. The new musical, written by Stewart F. Lane, got its world premiere at Five Towns College, Dix Hills, New York, on June 25, 2010.

Last night, June 14, The Town Hall celebrated the Broadway By The Year® 10th Anniversary Celebration - Broadway By The Year 1990-2010, Created, written and hosted by Scott Siegel for the Town Hall, the Broadway performers included Norm Lewis (The Little Mermaid, Sondheim on Sondheim), Karen Mason (Mama Mia!), Astaire Award-winner Spencer Liff (Cry- Baby), Michael Winther (Mama Mia!), Douglas Ladnier (Jekyll & Hyde), Ann Harada (Avenue Q), four-time Tony® Award nominee Gregg Edelmann (Tale of Two Cities), Alexander Gemignani (Les Miserables), Tony® Award winner Debbie Gravitte, Kendrick Jones (The Scottsboro Boys), three-time Tony® Award nominee Mark Kudisch (9 to 5), Tony® Award nominee Bobby Steggert (Ragtime), Julia Murney (Wicked), Max Von Essen (Xanadu national tour), Tony ® Award nominee Barbara Wash (Company) and Lari White (Ring of Fire). Broadway by the Year 1990-2010 was directed by Nightlife Award winner Scott Coulter, who also performed in the show.

Grammy Award-winner and platinum-selling recording artist Melissa Manchester joined the cast of The Town Hall's Broadway Musicals of 1948 on Monday, March 22. Continuing the 10th Anniversary celebration of The Town Hall's Broadway by the Year ® concert series, Manchester joined the cast of musical theater performers celebrating shows that graced Broadway stages in 1948, including Cole Porter's classic Kiss Me Kate and Frank Loesser's Where's Charley?. The show was hosted, created and written for The Town Hall by Scott Siegel.

BWW Reviews: The 2010 Nightlife Awards

It's a highlight of every winter, a celebration of the best entertainment in New York's nightlife scene. Combining jazz, comedy and cabaret, the annual Nightlife Awards famously eschew acceptance speeches in favor of performances, becoming a sampler of numerous artforms and introducing new artists to fans of different genres. Last Monday, some of the most gifted entertainers in all of these different subsets of nightlife took to the Town Hall stage for the seventh annual Nightlife Awards, with winners both past and present (and some other assorted guests) making some amazing music.

This week, January 25, stars celebrated the winners of the 2010 Nightlife Awards at The Town Hall. Among the winners and performers were Christine Ebersole, Cheyenne Jackson, Johnny Rodgers, Gretchen Reinhagen, Anne Steele, Eric Comstock and Barbara Fasano. Additional winners included Kurt Elling, Hank Jones, Sheila Jordan, Bad Plus, Baby Jane Dexter, Louis CK, John Mulaney, and Slovin and Allen.

What A Night Indeed! Stars Come Out to Support Harold Green Jewish Theatre Company

On Monday November 16th, some of the biggest and brightest names in musical theatre came together to perform a special fundraiser event for the Harold Green Jewish Theatre Company. Hosted by Colin Mochrie and Deb McGrath, BWW was on hand as some of Canada's most talented performed selections of songs from Jewish composers and shows.

More stars have been added to The Sixth Annual Broadway Unplugged concert at The Town Hall on Monday, November 16th at 8 PM. In addition to the previously announced Marc Kudisch, Emily Skinner, Daniel Reichard, Manu Narayan, Jill Paice, Jeffry Denman, William Michals, Lisa Howard, Bill Daugherty, and Sarah Jane McMahon, the cast of this unique concert that features the entire cast singing without microphones (the way it used to be done on Broadway) now also includes opera star John Easterlin, who won two Grammy Awards this year, as well as Nightlife Award winner David Colbert, and Broadway stars Tony Yazbeck and Janet Metz. The show's producer/writer/host, Scott Siegel has revealed that more star announcements are forthcoming.

NYMF Continues ASCAP Foundation Education Series 10/8 & 10/15

The New York Musical Theatre Festival continues its partnership with ASCAP to present the its annual Educational Series at Barnes and Noble Booksellers at Lincoln Triangle, 1972 Broadway at 66th Street. The remaining two educational seminars are FREE with seating based on space and availability.
