The Public Theater will open its 2014-15 downtown season with the world premiere of Bridget Everett's ROCK BOTTOM at Joe's Pub.š Created by Bridget Everett, Marc Shaiman, Scott Wittman, Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz, and Matt Ray, ROCK BOTTOM was originally commissioned as part of the Joe's Pub 2013 New York Voices series.

VOICEBOX, the Festival of Voices' cabaret/alternative late-night festival-within-a-festival, presents a scintillating line-up of national and international musicians over ten days in July. Curated by award-winning, New York-based cabaret star Kim Smith, the Voicebox program dallies between the erotic, the darkly comic, the joyous and the emotionally devastating, imbuing Hobart with the titillating atmosphere, originality and glamour of the clubs and theatres of New York City. Step inside Hobart City Hall, transformed for the festival into a den of red velvet, dirty cocktails and musical debauchery for Voicebox 2014.

BAX is a fundamental resource for NYC dance and theater artists, providing critical urban residency support for the development of cutting edge new work. Since 1998, when BAX received a Bessie Award 'for building both a house and a home for the arts in Brooklyn,' BAX's service to NYC artists has deepened and broadened. Thousands of NYC performing artists come through BAX's doors each year to rehearse, perform, teach, curate, take part in residencies and act as artist advisors. The organization's distinct focus on developmental process and individualized approach to working with each artist has made it a nurturing incubator with a proven record of success in supporting NYC dance and theater artists.

The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre, the acclaimed comedy/variety show, will continue its engagement at JOE'S PUB at The Public Theater on Sunday, May 18 at 9:30 PM with a celebration of the pop diva Janet Jackson. After a highly-successful season at 54 Below, The Meeting* has returned to its downtown roots this year with shows through May. The Meeting* has been called "delicious and delightfully droll" by The New York Post, and "hilarious and sardonic" by The Village Voice. A recent story for Slate.com called the evening "so deliciously icy that it left me shivering with fear and delight." The May show will feature special guest Erin Markey in addition to the previously-announced Cole Escola, Nadia Quinn of "Summer & Eve" and John Early. Brett Every serves as Music Director.

Joe's Pub at The Public is known for the most eclectic and diverse programming in New York City. Coming up at the Pub is a slate of extraordinary women performers and artists that span the gambit of genre and style - from the irreverent and explosive alt-cabaret star Bridget Everett to the visionary jazz vocalist and composer Kavita Shah to the prolific and singular singer-songwriter Mary Gauthier.
