Photo Coverage: Shrek Poses with Stanley Cup in Chicago!

The Stanley Cup officially took a 'Shrekcation' to the annual Broadway In Chicago Concert at the Taste of Chicago. While there cast members from participating acts were able to see Chicago's pride and joy, but none were happier than Eric Petersen, a native Chicagoan that will star as Shrek in the First National Tour of SHREK THE MUSICAL premiering in Chicago on July 13! Todd Buonopane is Lord Farquaad in SHREK Tour!

The official Facebook page for SHREK THE MUSICAL has announced that 'First up: he may be small in size (a mere 4 feet, 10 inches), but he makes up for it in tyranny! It's, Lord Farquaad, who will be played by Todd Buonopane. Todd has appeared in the Broadway production of 'Grease' and has also made TV appearances on '30 Rock' & 'Law & Order: CI.' We can be sure to expect BIG things from... this little dictator of Duloc.'

Ashford to Co-Direct SHREK Tour; Cast Announced

Producers DreamWorks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions, Ltd. are thrilled to announce casting for SHREK THE MUSICAL. Native Chicagoan, Eric Petersen will lead the First National Tour cast as Shrek. The Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning SHREK THE MUSICAL will launch its national tour in Chicago beginning July 13 at the Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W. Randolph St.). Tickets are currently on sale.

Matt Doyle, Adam Kantor, and Kristy Cates will join up-and-coming songwriters Kyle Ewalt and Michael Walker for an evening of their songs at 92YTribeca. Authors of Bromance: The Dudesical, Ewalt and Walker will make their first appearance since their sold out show at Playwrights Horizons.

'SHREK THE MUSICAL' Welcomes Ben Crawford In The Title Role 11/10

DreamWorks Theatricals & Neal Street Productions have announced that a new block of tickets are now available for SHREK THE MUSICAL. The award-winning hit new Broadway musical is now on sale through May 30, 2010. Beginning November 10th, Ben Crawford will perform the title role of ?Shrek'. Crawford replaces Tony Award® nominee Brian d'Arcy James, who departs after the performance on Sunday, November 8th to appear in Manhattan Theatre Club's production of Time Stands Still.

On Monday, October 26, 2009, Theatreworks USA (Barbara Pasternack, Artistic Director; Ken Arthur, Producing Director), a leading not-for-profit professional theatre will honor Kathleen Chalfant, Mike Moynihan and Patricia Velasquez with the Lee Salk 'Goodworks' Award at its annual awards dinner and gala. The event begins at 6pm at The Pierre in midtown Manhattan, with cocktails and silent auction followed by dinner, awards, and live entertainment.

SHREK THE MUSICAL welcomes Robb Sapp to the company in the role of Pinocchio beginning Tuesday, August 18th. Tony Award® nominee John Tartaglia, who originated the role of Pinocchio, is scheduled to return to the show following a leave of absence on Tuesday, December 15th.
