Breaking News: SMASH Stars Brian d'Arcy James and Christian Borle to Reunite in SOMETHING ROTTEN! on Broadway

Producer Kevin McCollum is proud to announce that Broadway favorite leading men and 'Smash' costars, two time Tony Award nominee Brian d'Arcy James (Shrek, Sweet Smell of Success) and Tony Award winner Christian Borle (Peter and the Starcatcher) will return to the stage to star in Something Rotten!, a completely original new musical comedy directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon, Aladdin), with music and lyrics by Grammy Award winner Wayne Kirkpatrick and Golden Globe Award nominee Karey Kirkpatrick and a book by Karey Kirkpatrick and best-selling author John O'Farrell.

Midnight Company to Present SEX, DRUGS, ROCK & ROLL, 1/2-4

The Midnight Company will present an Encore Performance of Eric Bogosian's SEX, DRUGS, ROCK & ROLL January 2-4, 2015 at Herbie's Vintage 72, featuring Joe Hanrahan and directed by Rachel Tibbetts, with shows in the New Year Today, January 2 and Saturday, January 3 at 8pm, and Sunday January 4 at 7pm.

BWW Interviews: Mary Birdsong in ABSURD PERSON SINGULAR at Two River Theater

Mary Birdsong will play the role of Marion in 'Absurd Person Singular' at Two River Theater from January 10th through February 1st. Written by Alan Ayckbourn and directed by Jessica Stone, this is a laugh out loud satirical play about English couples who gather at three successive Christmas celebrations.

Ron Cephas Jones & Michael Rispoli Round Out Cast of Second Stage's BETWEEN RIVERSIDE AND CRAZY

Casting is complete for Second Stage Theatre presentation of the Atlantic Theater Company's production of Stephen Adly Guirgis' acclaimed play, BETWEEN RIVERSIDE AND CRAZY. Ron Cephas Jones (Of Mice of Men and 2ST's Wildflower) and Michael Rispoli (Between Riverside and Crazy at ATC) join previously announced cast members Stephen McKinley Henderson (Fences, 2ST's Jitney), Victor Almanzar (Repertorio Espanol, LAByrinth Theater), Elizabeth Canavan (The Little Flower of East Orange), Rosal Colon (The Motherf*cker with the Hat) and Liza Colon-Zayas (2ST Water by the Spoonful and Living Out).

Barbara Rosenblat to Perform THE SEARCH FOR SIGNS OF INTELLIGENT LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE at Chain Theatre

The brilliant actress BARBARA ROSENBLAT (Miss Rosa in Orange Is the New Black) stars in the poignant, sharp, and laugh-out-loud funny play by Jane Wagner, THE SEARCH FOR SIGNS OF INTELLIGENT LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE. This one-night-only staged reading will be held on Saturday, December 13th at 8pm, to benefit the Chain Theatre (21-28 45 Road, Long Island City, 646-580-6003) .

Public Theater Extends Suzan-Lori Parks' FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS

The Public Theater announced a second extension for the critically acclaimed FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS (PARTS 1, 2 & 3), a world premiere play written by Public Theater Master Writer Chair Suzan-Lori Parks. Directed by Jo Bonney, FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS (PARTS 1, 2 & 3) will now run through Sunday, December 7. It was originally scheduled to close on November 16 and extended the first time through November 30.

This year the organization honored Jules Fisher, Lynn Nottage, and the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation at 583 Park Avenue in New York City. The performances included previews of two productions from TCG Member Theatres: A Walk on the Moon (New York Stage and Film) and Immediate Family (About Face Theatre, Center Theatre Group, and the Goodman Theatre). Public Theater Extends Suzan-Lori Parks' FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS

The Public Theater announced a two-week extension today for the critically acclaimed FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS (PARTS 1, 2 & 3), a world premiere play written by Public Theater Master Writer Chair Suzan-Lori Parks. Directed by Jo Bonney, FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS (PARTS 1, 2 & 3) began previews on Tuesday, October 14 in the Anspacher Theater and was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, November 16. It will now run an additional two weeks through Sunday, November 30.

BWW Review: Factory Theatre's THE ART OF BUILDING A BUNKER

The award-winning one-man play 'The Art of Building a Bunker' now on at Factory Theatre Lab, is about a desperate outsider named Elvis Goldstein who is incapable of experiencing love and the consequences that follow. His namesake, of course, was the King of Rock n' Roll. This homunculus is the King of Pain. He is also a vicious bigot.

TCG Welcomes New Appointments to Board of Directors

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, welcomes new officers and nine new members to its board of directors. Sarah Bellamy, co-artistic director of Penumbra Theatre Company, and Kevin Moriarty, artistic director of Dallas Theater Center, succeed Robert Hupp and Lydia R. Diamond as joint vice presidents. Jonathan Moscone, artistic director of California Shakespeare Theater, succeeds Ralph Bryan as secretary. Diane Rodriguez, associate artistic director of Center Theatre Group, and Tim Jennings, managing director of Children's Theatre Company, remain as president and treasurer, respectively.

Vets and Newbies - Meet the Cast of THIS IS OUR YOUTH, Running Through January on Broadway!

Steppenwolf Theatre Company's new production of Kenneth Lonergan's critically acclaimed THIS IS OUR YOUTH opened on Broadway on September 11, 2014, and runs through January 4, 2015 at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street). In this production, Michael Cera makes his New York stage debut opposite Kieran Culkin and Tavi Gevinson, which premiered at Steppenwolf in Chicago this past summer, and is directed by Anna D. Happy Birthday, Liev Screiber! Schreiber's performance as Ricky Roma in the 2005 Broadway revival of David Mamet's 'Glengarry Glen Ross', directed by Joe Mantello, earned him his first Tony Award. He was again a Tony nominee for his portrayal of Barry Champlain in the 2007 Broadway revival of Eric Bogosian's 'Talk Radio', directed by Robert Falls, Other stage work includes The Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park production of 'Macbeth', in the lead role opposite Jennifer Ehle, directed by Moises Kaufman; 'Iago'; 'Hamlet'; 'Henry the V'; and 'Cymbeline'.

TALK RADIO to End Off-Broadway Run Tomorrow

Variations Theatre Group's critically acclaimed production of Eric Bogosian's TALK RADIO will conclude its limited engagement tomorrow night (Saturday) at the Chain Theatre. Inspired by the 1984 murder of controversial shock jock Alan Berg, TALK RADIO is set in a Cleveland radio station over the course of Barry Champlain's two-hour broadcast as he's being scrutinized that night by producers fixated on taking the show national, and fueled as always by coffee, cocaine and Jack Daniel's. Barry's jousts with his unseen callers-ranging from a white supremacist to a woman obsessed with her garbage disposal-are interspersed with confrontations by his ex-deejay pal and his sometime girlfriend/producer.

Barbara Rosenblat, who plays the cancer-stricken inmate Miss Rosa on "Orange is the New Black," recently checked out the new revival of Eric Bogosian's TALK RADIO at the Chain Theatre. Barbara appeared in the 2007 Broadway production of TALK RADIO starring Live Schreiber, and she was also in the original cast of The Secret Garden as the housekeeper Mrs. Medlock.
