Public's GATZ Begins Previews 9/26

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) will begin previews Sunday, September 26 for GATZ, the critically acclaimed theatrical adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby. Created by Elevator Repair Service and directed by John Collins, GATZ will continue through Sunday, November 28, with an official press opening on Wednesday, October 6. Tickets are on-sale now.

Long before New York had a fringe festival, New York had the Ensemble Studio Theatre's OCTOBERFEST, a marathon of new, developing plays crammed together on two floors of the theatre company's home at 549 West 52nd Street. The first OCTOBERFEST was in 1981.

Passage Theater Opens 24th Season With LOVE AND COMMUNICATION 10/7-24

Passage Theatre, Trenton's only professional theater company, will open its 2010-2011 season with Love and Communication, a new play by Princeton resident James J. Christy. Directed by Adam Immerwahr, the production will run from October 7 through October 24 at the historic Mill Hill Playhouse in Trenton.

Casting Begins For Darlene Love Feature Film

Casting has begun on the feature film based on Darlene Love's autobiography My Name is Love, The Darlene Love Story by Darlene Love with Rob Hoerburger.

Yale Rep Announces Drama Series Events

YALE SCHOOL OF DRAMA/YALE REPERTORY THEATRE (James Bundy, Dean, Artistic Director; Victoria Nolan, Deputy Dean, Managing Director) announce two events in connection with the 2010 YALE DRAMA SERIES, the annual playwriting competition jointly sponsored by Yale University Press and Yale Repertory Theatre and funded with generous support from the David C. Horn Foundation, on Monday, September 20.

Ma-Yi Theater Company Presents MICROCRISIS 10/5 At HERE Arts Center

MICROCRISIS - a new play by Michael Lew - will be given its world-premiere production by Ma-Yi Theater Company, starting previews Off-Broadway on September 28 prior to its official opening night on October 5 at the HERE Arts Center (145 Avenue of the Americas) in New York City.

TRUST Closes at 2nd Stage 9/5

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) has announced that Zach Braff, Bobby Cannavale, Sutton Foster, and Ari Graynor will co-star in the world premiere comedy TRUST, written by Paul Weitz, directed by Peter DuBois. Mr. Weitz returns to Second Stage Theatre, where his plays Privilege and Show People premiered in 2005 and 2006, respectively. Directed by Peter DuBois, who staged Second Stage's acclaimed production of Becky Shaw, TRUST will begin previews on Friday, July 23 at Second Stage Theatre (305 West 43rd street) and officially open on Thursday, August 12. The production runs through September 5.

Dickinson, Dirden & More Lead Cast Of Atlantic's BOTTOM OF THE WORLD, Previews 9/3

Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director; Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director) is proud to announce that Crystal A. Dickinson, Brandon J. Dirden, Aubrey Dollar, Brendan Griffin, Kristin Griffith, Jessica Love, Peter Maloney and K.K. Moggie will star in the world premiere of Lucy Thurber's play BOTTOM OF THE WORLD directed by Caitriona McLaughlin.

SUMMER SHORTS 4 Closes At 59E59 Theaters 9/2
