L. A. Unified, a solo show written and performed by David Newer, will play at the Theatre Row Complex (410 W. 42nd St.) as part of the United Solo Festival on October 11th starting at 7:30PM. Erica Silberman directs Newer as he embodies 16 characters while recounting the chapter in his life as a substitute teacher in the often brutal L.A. Unified School System.

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) will open their 2014-15 season with Olives and Blood at the Nafe Katter Theatre October 2nd - 12th. Written by Michael Bradford, this new play stars Martin Sola as Juan Luis Trescante Medina, the aging fascist who claims responsibility for the murder of poet-playwright Federico Garcia Lorca, played by Nicholas Urda.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) is pleased to announce the ten participants in the SPARK Leadership Program, one of the programs in TCG's Leading the Charge: Diversity & Inclusion Initiative, SPARK will create a more diverse theatre landscape by supporting the professional development of exceptional rising leaders of color who aim to take on executive leadership positions in artistic, management or producing roles at U.S. not-for-profit theatres.

The Boston engagement of Disney's The Lion King. Boston's most eagerly awaited stage production returns to the Boston Opera House stage runs today, September 9 to October 12 as part of the 2014-2015 Lexus Broadway In Boston Season.

"Misterman" enjoyed sold-out runs and glowing reviews from audiences and critics when it premiered at the 2011 Galway Arts Festival, followed by the New York premiere at St. Ann's Warehouse. "Misterman" is headed to Colorado with the news that Mr. Walsh's critically acclaimed hit play, will feature Olympia Dukakis voicing the role of Mammy. The play will be directed by Melissa Firlit and the role of Thomas Magill will be played by New York actor Craig MacArthur. "Misterman" opens at the Thingamajig Theatre Company's 99-seat black box on September 26th and runs through October 12th. The production will then relocate to Denver this fall before returning to New York in spring of 2015.

Ben Rimalower's addiction to spending beyond his means has driven him to extreme lengths all his life. In BAD WITH MONEY he charts his sometimes hilarious, sometimes harrowing struggle to overcome his problem-or get rich trying. Written and performed by Ben Rimalower and directed by Aaron Mark, BAD WITH MONEY premieres at The Duplex (61 Christopher Street at Seventh Avenue) from tonight, September 4 through November 6.

Soho Rep. and The Play Company, in association with John Adrian Selzer, announce casting and the creative team for the U.S. premiere of debbie tucker green's generations. The production, September 30-October 26, reunites the playwright with director Leah C. Gardiner, who worked together on the OBIE Award-winning 2011 production of born bad. generations features a 12-person community chorus led by music director Bongi Duma (The Lion King). The cast includes Shyko Amos (An Octoroon), Mamoudou Athie, Khail Toi Bryant (The Lion King), Ntombikhona Dlamini (Sarafina!), Thuli Dumakude (The Lion King, Poppie Nongena), Jonathan Peck (The Lion in Winter) and Michael Rogers (born bad, Breakfast With Mugabe).

59E59 Theaters will welcome Godlight Theatre Company with the world premiere of James Dickey's DELIVERANCE, based on his acclaimed novel, adapted by Sean Tyler, directed by Joe Tantalo. DELIVERANCE begins performances on Friday, October 10 for a limited engagement through Sunday, November 9. Press opening is Tuesday, October 21 at 7:30 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:30 PM; Friday at 8:30 PM; Saturday at 2:30 PM & 8:30 PM; and Sunday at 3:30 PM. The Lark Play Development Center named five New York City-based playwrights as Playwrights' Workshop Fellows for the 2014-15 season. The group spans a wide range of backgrounds and professional experiences and will meet regularly throughout the year to develop new plays.

PAGE 73 has announced the world premiere of YOU GOT OLDER, a new play by 2014 P73 Playwriting Fellow Clare Barron. Directed by Obie Award-winner Anne Kauffman, YOU GOT OLDER will star Tony Award nominee Reed Birney and Brooke Bloom and begins previews on October 29, 2014 on the Mainstage at HERE (145 6th Avenue, New York, NY 10013-1548). YOU GOT OLDER's opening date is currently set for November 6, 2014 and runs through November 22, 2014.

New York Madness (NYM) is about to start its Fifth Season. With a focus on emerging artists, NYM hosts a hot night of short plays based on a theme proposed by the more established Featured Guest. The Theme is announced one week prior to the event. Matthew-Lee Erlbach's new reading A NEIGHBOR IN THE AREA is being performed at the end of the month. Featuring Tony nominee Reed Birney, Heather Lind, Nick Westrate, Brad Bellamy, Charlotte Booker, and Devin Norik, the reading is being directed by Wes Grantom.

Daryl Roth (Kinky Boots, The Normal Heart) and Karyl Lynn Burns (The Best is Yet to Come) present the New York premiere of Wiesenthal, the award-winning play written by and starring Tom Dugan and directed by Jenny Sullivan. Wiesenthal begins performances October 24 at the Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row, (410 W. 42nd Street). Opening night is November 5.

USELESS, Saviana Stanescu's dark-humored drama about human trafficking, ends its limited run at IRT Theater, downtown Manhattan. The production directed by Jose Zayas, starring Ana Grosse, Andy Phelan, and Steven Rishard, featured creative work by designers: Susan Zeeman Rogers (Set), Ryan O'Gara (Lighting), David Margolin Lawson (Sound), and Lisa Renee Jordan (Costumes).
