FROZEN Wins Best Animated Feature, Music, Voice Acting at the 2014 Annie Awards; Full List!

The International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood, hosted its 41st Annual Annie Awards, recognizing the year's best in the field of animation, last night, February 1, 2014. The Annie Awards cover 30 categories and include Best Animated Feature, Best Animated Special Production, Commercials, Short and Outstanding Individual Achievements.

LA Children's Chorus to Present US Debut of Cuban Choir SINE NOMINE 2/15 in Pasadena

The famed Los Angeles Children's Chorus (LACC) presents the highly anticipated US debut of Cuba's premiere men's choir Camerata Vocale Sine Nomine, led by eminent Cuban choral conductor Leonor Suarez Dulzaides, in a free concert on Saturday, February 15, 2014, 7:00 pm, at Pasadena Presbyterian Church, launching the nine-member Havana-based choir's first state-side tour.

Flamenco Vocalist Estrella Morente to Return to Carnegie Hall, 3/8

Estrella Morente, the celebrated flamenco vocalist renowned for her powerful singing and rhythmic control, returns to Carnegie Hall on Saturday, March 8 at 7:30 p.m., bringing a modernized take on the rich and complex tradition of classic flamenco music to Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. This concert is presented in partnership with Flamenco Festival, Inc.

NBC and Time Inc. have partnered to present a two-hour TV special celebrating the 50th anniversary of Sports Illustrated's swimsuit franchise — one of the most hotly-anticipated annual fixtures in American pop culture. Entitled “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit: 50 Years of Beautiful,” the show is set to air on NBC, Monday, Feb. 3 (9 p.m. ET/PT).

Matt Reeves to Return as Director for PLANET OF THE APES 3?

Deadline reports that Matt Reeves has locked in a deal to return as director for the third installment of the PLANET OF THE APES franchise. The second film, DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, is set to hit theaters on July 11, 2014.

Lewis Black and Sarah Jessica Parker Set for the Flea's RAISING A JOYFUL HELL Benefit, 1/13

Welcome in the New Year with The Flea Theater on Monday, January 13 at The Raising A Joyful Hell Benefit. The event honors playwright A.R. Gurney and philanthropists Nancy and Fred Poses for their contributions to The Flea and will feature a variety show starring comedian Lewis Black, actors Tina Benko, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jay O. Sanders and James Waterston, pianist Anthony De Mare, LAVA acrobatic dance and the singing ensemble The Lobbyists as well as members of The Bat Theater Company, the resident artists of The Flea in a preview performance of The Mysteries.
