From the controversial and crass to the inspiring and romantic, the past decade's Tony winners for Best Musical delighted us then and continue to captivate us as they play in productions across the country and around the world. Jim Norton (currently in 'Of Mice and Men'), and Gillian Hanna and Conor MacNeill (both currently in the 'The Cripple of Inishmaan') are taking part in a reading of Irish playwright Jim Nolan's 'Brighton' on Monday May 12 at 7pm. A popular voice in Ireland, Nolan will be in New York for the event, which is presented by Origin Theatre Company as part of its 10th annual Mondays of May play reading series.

New leads announced for the Olivier-winning musical, starting from May 12th. The production is currently booking into 2015.

Pulitzer Prize nominee Rajiv Joseph's (Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo - NEA Award BEST PLAY) Gruesome Playground Injuries launches the season for multi-award winning Rogue Machine Theatre (BEST PRODUCTION award winner 2013, 2011 and 2010 - Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle, Ovation). Their SEVENTH SEASON begins May 24, 2014.

The Puppet Lab, which celebrates its 16th anniversary this year, is St. Ann's Warehouse'sexperimental haven for artists developing interdisciplinary projects for puppet and object theater. Under the direction of Lab Co-Directors Matthew Acheson and Krissy Smith, participating artists and their collaborators have met weekly over several months to develop projects, share puppetry elements and other design and technical ideas, discuss plot structure and character development, and work on narrative. They will present their works-in-progress in the annual Labapalooza! festival, which will run May 29 - June 1 at St. Ann's Warehouse (29 Jay Street, Brooklyn).

piece by piece productions and Rising Phoenix Repertory in association with Rattlestick Playwrights Theater will present the world premiere of A Fable, written by David Van Asselt and directed by Daniel Talbott, beginning tonight, May 3 at 7pm at the Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street. The opening night is set for Thursday, May 22 at 7pm. A Fable is scheduled to run through Sunday, June 28.

ONCE, winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical and winner of the 2013 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, plays The Buell Theatre May 6 through 18 only. Tickets are on sale now at Denvercenter.org.

Arthur Darvill wants his fans to know there is more to him than playing the character 'Rory' from the popular sci-fi drama Dr Who.

ONCE, the Oscar-winning film ("Falling Slowly"), has a lot of qualities to it that don't immediately make you think it should transition well to the stage. It's a simple story that deals mostly with two main characters, and it doesn't have an "in your face" type of score, or mood about it. And yet, somehow writer Enda Walsh (book) is able to maintain that intimate intensity without sacrificing its charms. It helps that Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova have crafted a subtle, but fine collection of tunes that really work well to assist in telling the story, even on a big stage. The current production gracing the Fox Theatre is wonderfully directed (John Tiffany), and makes for a perfect "date night" out. This Tony Award winner is deserved of its praise and delivers must-see entertainment.

Last night (17 March 20134) the six-time Olivier award nominated musical Once celebrated its first birthday in the West End, joining forces with the charity Oxfam specifically fundraising for their Mother Appeal. Also celebrating St Patrick's Day, the production welcomed their new cast led by Arthur Darvill, who joins the London production having played the role on Broadway.
