Sundance Institute announced today the lineup of films selected to screen in the U.S. and World Cinema Dramatic and Documentary Competitions for the 25th Sundance Film Festival. In addition to the four Competition categories, the Festival presents films in five out-of-competition sections to be announced tomorrow. The 2009 Sundance Film Festival runs January 15-25 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Sundance, Utah.
The Lifetime Original Movie 'Nora Roberts' Midnight Bayou,' starring Jerry O'Connell ('Crossing Jordan'), Lauren Stamile ('Grey's Anatomy') and Faye Dunaway ('Chinatown') is the second of the 2009 Nora Roberts' movie slate to begin production.
Well-known writer Julian Fellowes, who rocketed to international fame with his Oscar-winning screenplay for Gosford Park and who is currently represented both on the London stage and on Broadway with the hit musical production of Mary Poppins, for which he wrote the book, will collaborate with recent Oscar winners Graham King and Martin Scorsese on The Young Victoria.
