Variety reports today that Liv Ullmann is confirmed to direct the John Mellencamp/Stephen King musical, The Ghost Brothers of Darkland County. The Swedish actress-director, who most recently made headlines for her direction of the Kate Blanchett-led A Streetcar Names Desire at BAM and The Kennedy Center, announced her participation in Darkland County on a Swedish radio broadcast.

One Step Beyond continues in 2010 at the American Museum of Natural History, presented with The Fader magazine. During this ongoing party series, guests can dance in the Museum's Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Hall of the Universe to the sounds of the biggest names in techno, electronica, hip-hop, and indie rock. A beer and wine bar keep the party going. Each ticket also includes one pass to the Museum for future use.

In collaboration with our major cultural partner, the Australian National Academy of Music, the Melbourne Cabaret Festival is ecstatic to present the planet's best and most famous quartet - the Brodsky Quartet from the UK - in collaboration with comedian, actor, composer, performer and 2009 Helpmann Award winner, Eddie Perfect. Bill Frisell, Ron Carter, and Paul Motian - three of the top players on their respective instruments - will take the Blue Note stage in early December for a special series of trio concerts. The three legends recorded an album in 2006 for Nonesuch records under their own name, but rarely play together live. Brought back by popular demand, the group will reunite at the Blue Note from February 23 - 28.

This week, Broadway Musicals of 1927 kicked off the Town Hall's 10th Anniversary season of the critically acclaimed Broadway By The Year® series. Alexander Gemignani directed and starred in the show alongside Finian's Rainbow's Kate Baldwin and Christopher Fitzgerald, Melinda Sullivan, Kendrick Jones, Carole Bufford, Marc Kudisch (9 to 5), Chad Kimball (Memphis), and Quentin Earl Darrington, Bobby Steggert, Ron Bohmer, and Christiane Noll from Ragtime. Broadway Musicals of 1927 is created, written and hosted by Scott Siegel for The Town Hall. Ross Patterson musical directed the event, beginning his tenth season as the musical director of Broadway by the Year®.
