2014 sees some new names and some returns to The Crazy Coqs. January starts with the London debut of the sizzling cabaret performer Carole J .Bufford and her show Body and Soul (January 7 - 11) followed by the popular Broadway star Brent Barrett and his show Night Songs (January 14 -18) and then actress and singer Linda Purl with her show Midnight Caravan: Celebrating the Great Ladies of the Glamorous Nightclub Era of the 40s & 50s (January 21 - 25).

Nominations for the 41st Annie Awards have been announced. Topping the list with 10 nominations each are Disney's Frozen and Monster's University.

A slew of Broadway favorites will return to Broadway in the upcoming theatre season, including Andy Karl, who will star as 'Rocky Balboa' in Rocky (set to open at the Winter Garden Theatre on March 13, 2014).

Theatre Lawrence brings Shrek: The Musical, to the stage with performances Dec. 6 through Dec. 22. Inspired by the Oscar winning DreamWorks movie, the stage version has book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori, for a show that brings everyone's favorite Ogre to new and hilarious life on the stage.

Curtain Call Performing Arts (CCPA) is proud to present Melissa Modifer in Concert, the first concert in the 2013-2014 CCPA Concert Series. The series is a follow-up to last year's set which featured local talented musicians and performers in the intimate setting of the California Conservatory Theatre (CCT). The 2013-2014 concert series will feature a diverse collection of performers year round. The first concert of the season features hometown talent, former CCPA actor, and regional musical theatre standout Melissa Modifer (San Leandro) performing with music director Andy Kust and special guests Brittany Howk and Thomas Kulkus. Melissa Modifer in Concert runs December 6-8 at CCT in downtown San Leandro.
