The Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce is proud to host and produce the 10th Annual Lakeview East Festival of the Arts. The 10th anniversary weekend takes place Saturday, Sept. 13 and Sunday, Sept. 14 in Lakeview, a dynamic and diversified neighborhood community rich in culture, history and the arts, from Belmont Ave. to Hawthorne Street. The 2014 Lakeview East Festival of the Arts showcases more than 150-juried artists featuring world-class original paintings, sculpture, photography, furniture, jewelry and more. This will all be in addition to the diverse artists' booths, live music on multiple stages, the interactive children's area, wine and food booths and much more. The Waterfront Theatre Company returns to The Masque Theatre in Muizenburg this month with yet another musical that celebrates Women's Month: LEGALLY BLONDE - THE MUSICAL! With a book by Heather Hach and a score by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin, this new production of the popular Broadway show will be brought to life by Paul Griffiths (director), Garth Tavares (musical director) and William Jones (choreography).

Tony Winner Lena Hall (Hedwig and the Angry Inch) will be performing with her band The Deafening in a special concert at Arlene's Grocery on Wednesday, Sept. 3, celebrating the bands new single which drops today on iTunes.

The New York Burlesque Festival - the largest and most acclaimed festival of its kind in the world - returns to the city this fall for more lavish and wildly entertaining performances than ever. The festival has attracted sold-out crowds since its premiere in 2003 and this September marks the 12th year for the celebrated event. Big Noise Theatre Company has announced the cast for Legally Blonde the Musical, running weekends Oct 10-19 at Prairie Lakes Theatre in Des Plaines, IL. Legally Blonde is based on the beloved 2001 movie and 2007 Broadway show about a sorority girl who discovers herself and makes good at Harvard Law at the same time!

SiriusXM Broadway host Seth Rudetsky will host and music direct a benefit concert at 42West on Sunday August 24th called Not Since High School. The concert, which will begin at 7:30, will showcase Broadway performers singing the classic roles they played as teens while wearing braces and/or breaking out.

Broadway In Chicago has announced the cast and creative team for Evil Dead - The Musical, winner of the 2007 Dora Audience Choice Award as Toronto's favorite show, which will bring mayhem and fun to the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place (175 E Chestnut) for a limited three-week engagement Sept. 23 through Oct. 12, 2014.
