Prospect Theater Company has announced the cast of By The Numbers, a part of the company's new IGNITE Series at The Times Center, featuring today's new voices shaping the future of musical theater. This one-night-only concert event will be Saturday, June 27th at 8pm.  The evening features the world premiere performance of 12 'micro-musicals' created in Prospect's 2015 Musical Theater Lab.  Each of these original, hot-off-the-presses musical theater shorts runs under seven minutes, and has been inspired by a number -- one through twelve -- creating a song cycle collectively written over the lab's month-long time span by participating composers & lyricists.

The Ignite Series will reflect Prospect's dedication to fostering and producing new voices, creating a high-visibility platform for work by emerging artists.

On September 22nd, you have one chance to see a New York Theatre Barn (The Barn) exclusive Pre-Premiere* of the new musicals, MARRYING ME and SEAWIFE at the Daryl Roth Theatre's D-Lounge at 7:30 pm. The Civilians, the award-winning New York-based theatre company, announces the members of its 2013-14 R & D Group. The group's emerging and established artists were selected from over one hundred applicants. The R & D Group is comprised of artists from multiple theatrical disciplines. Each artist or creative team will develop an original work over the season. The artists and projects were selected to represent a range of different strategies for making new work from creative inquiry and research. This diversity of approach helps feed a culture of innovation in the group, making the R & D Group an effective lab of experimentation for the field of investigative theater.

Big Thunder Productions will present Mercury Rising, a Benefit Concert by MSS Alums in the Big Apple, a cabaret event to be performed on Sunday, September 15th at 4pm at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. The event will feature songs from new, bound-for-Broadway musicals written by up-and-coming composers and lyricists from all over the globe, including Mercury Summer Stock's own Dan Marshall, Carla Rose Fisher, and Aliyana Stewart. This benefit concert will feature Broadway's Corey Mach and Drew Aber, and over a dozen of Mercury's NYC-based professional alumni, along with special guest Marissa Rosen.
