Deridre O'Connell Joins THE VANDAL at the Flea

The Flea Theater announced today that Obie and Drama Desk Award winner Deirdre O'Connell has joined the cast of World Premiere of THE VANDAL by Hamish Linklater (TV's The New Adventures of Old Christine). This limited Off-Broadway engagement begins previews January 18 with opening slated for January 31. Tickets start at $45 and can be purchased online at www.theflea.org or by calling 212-352-3101.

THE FLYING LATKE Returns to The Flea, Now thru 12/16

The Flea Theater presents THE FLYING LATKE by Caldecott-Medal winner Arthur Yorinks, a heart-warming tale of Chanukah celebrations, holiday dysfunction and the miracle of a certain soaring potato pancake. Directed by Flea Resident Director Ben Kamine, this limited engagement runs Today & Sunday mornings only, today, December 1 through 16 at The Flea.

Sam Willmott Receives 2012 Fred Ebb Award Tonight

The Fred Ebb Foundation (Mitchell Bernard, Trustee) in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) will present the eighth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Sam Willmott. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, will be presented by David Hyde Pierce tonight, November 26th from 6-8pm at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lobby of The American Airlines Theater.

The Flea Extends I HATE F*CKING MEXICANS thru December 11

After a successful run at The Flea, the theater has announced the extension of the U.S. Premiere of I HATE F*CKING MEXICANS by Luis Enrique Gutierrez Ortiz Monasterio "the enfant terrible of contemporary Mexican theater." Translated by Debbie Saivetz, Ana Graham, and Danya Taymor and directed by Ms. Taymor, a Flea Resident Director; the production features members of The Bats and The Riot Group's Adriano Shapman. Previews began October 9, with opening night on October 18. The show is now extended with limited performances through December 11.

Thomas Bradshaw's JOB Premiere to Return to The Flea, Jan 4-28

After a sold out run and extension, The Flea Theater announces yet another extension of the New York premiere production of JOB, written by Thomas Bradshaw and directed by Flea Resident Director Benjamin Kamine. A popular and critical success, JOB now will return and play January 4 through 28.

Tin Lily Productions Presents New Adaptation of WOYZECK or THE ENDLESS CYCLE, Now thru 11/18

Tin Lily Productions, a Brooklyn based company dedicated to the production of socially relevant theatre, is producing 'Woyzeck' or 'The Endless Cycle,' a new adaptation and composition by William Lewis and Charlie Biscotto based on the original text by Georg Buchner. Performances will be held at The Secret Theatre in Long Island City and are scheduled to run from tonight, November 7th through November 18th, Wednesday through Saturday evenings at 8 PM, with Matinee performances Saturdays at 3pm and Sundays at 5 PM.

The Parisian Woman tears the veil off adultery in this modern retelling of the scandalous affairs of a bored and intelligent wife left to her own devices. Directed by Joel Schumacher.

Karen Ziemba Joins Off-Broadway's HERESY, Beginning Tonight, 10/19

The Flea Theater welcomes Tony Award winner Karen Ziemba (Contact, Curtains, Steel Pier) to the cast of the limited Off-Broadway engagement of HERESY by A.R. Gurney, directed by Jim Simpson. Beginning tonight, October 19th, Ziemba replaces Kathy Najimy, who leaves to begin filming a TV project. The cast also stars Annette O'Toole (Smallville, Southern Comfort), Ariel Woodiwiss (Williamstown Theatre Festival), Reg E. Cathey (The Wire), Steve Mellor (Nixon's Nixon) and introducing Tommy Crawford and Danny Rivera, members of The Bats, The Flea's resident company of actors in their professional debut. Previews of this World Premiere began September 29 with opening night slated for Thursday, October 11.
