Drama Critics' Circle Members to Become Tony Voters for '10-11 Season

Altering a policy change implemented last year, Tony Award Productions has offered the members of the New York Drama Critics' Circle the opportunity to be Tony voters beginning with the 2010-2011 season, when the new yearly rules take effect. The New York Drama Critics' Circle has accepted this offer.

Playwright Horizon's Ends Run of CLYBOURNE PARK, 3/21

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) will end its production of the World Premiere of CLYBOURNE PARK, a new play by Bruce Norris on March 21st.

FELA! to Play London's National Theatre in November

The acclaimed Broadway sensation Fela! will play London's National Theatre in November, reports Baz Bamigboye of the Daily Mail. Star of the New York production Sahr Ngaujah will portray Fela on the National's Olivier Stage. His fellow New York alternate, Kevin Mambo, will also join the cast for the London premiere. Dates for the production have not been set at this time, though it is expected the show will play from November 16 through January 2011.

FELA! Records Cast Album Today; Gets 6/8 Release

Fela! the new Broadway musical, will record its cast album today, March 8. The recording will be made at Clinton Recording studies. The cast album is set to be released on June 8.

Playwright Horizon's Extends CLYBOURNE PARK By Two Weeks

Melissa James Gibson's THIS Extends Through January 3, 2010

Following critical acclaim and popular demand, Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) has announced a three-week extension for the World Premiere of THIS, the new play by Obie Award winner Melissa James Gibson (Suitcase, [sic]). Directed by Obie Award winner Daniel Aukin ([sic], eight seasons as Artistic Director of Soho Rep), the production opened Wednesday, December 2. Originally set to run through Sunday, December 13, the limited engagement will now play through Sunday, January 3, 2010 at the theater company's Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street). This date represents the latest extension possible for the show.

Mint Theater Adds One More Performance To SO HELP ME GOD 12/20

Mint Theater Company (Jonathan Bank, Artistic Director) has added one additional performance, Sunday December 20th at 7 pm, to accommodate the demand for their acclaimed production of So Help Me God! by Maurine Dallas Watkins (the author of Chicago, the play upon which the musical is based) at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street).

FELA! Adds Wednesday Mats.; Pushes Sunday Performances to 3pm for New Year

Producers Shawn 'Jay-Z' Carter and Will & Jada Pinkett Smith announced today that beginning January 6, the new critically acclaimed Broadway musical Fela! will add Wednesday matinee performances to its weekly schedule and push back Sunday matinee times to 3pm. The new schedule, beginning Tuesday, January 5 will be as follows: Tuesday at 7pm, Wednesday at 2pm & 8pm, Thursday and Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 2pm & 8pm and Sunday at 3pm (except Sunday, January 10 when curtain is 2pm).
