Aquila Polonica Publishing recently sold simplified Chinese rights to its award-winning book, 'The Auschwitz Volunteer: Beyond Bravery' by Captain Witold Pilecki, to Beijing World Publishing Corporation, Beijing, in a sale agented by Gray Tan and Zoe Hsu, The Grayhawk Agency, Taiwan. 'The Auschwitz Volunteer' is the first time that Pilecki's most comprehensive report on his secret undercover mission at Auschwitz has been published in English. The book received rave reviews from major media, including The New York Times Sunday Book Review, which calls it 'a historical document of the greatest importance.' The New Republic says: 'Extraordinary memoir. Extraordinarily powerful prose. Deserves to be read alongside the accounts of Primo Levi and Elie Wiesel.' During a speech yesterday, May 20, at the Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity dinner, George Clooney announced a significant expansion of the Satellite Sentinel Project, an initiative he co-founded three years ago. While it will continue to use satellite imagery to monitor and warn against human rights abuses in war-torn Sudan and South Sudan, the Satellite Sentinel Project will expand its focus to undertake forensic investigations to reveal how those committing mass atrocities are funding their activities and where they are hiding their stolen assets.

Yousuf Karsh: American Portraits Second Installation, May 2 through Nov. 2 This installation includes a second selection of portraits by iconic photographer Yousuf Karsh in celebration of a gift of more than 100 works to the National Portrait Gallery. Photographs include Clark Gable, Martha Graham, Helen Keller, the Apollo XI Crew, Isamu Noguchi, Andy Warhol and Elie Wiesel.

Trinity Rep and the Holocaust Education and Resource Center of Rhode Island present a staged reading of select passages from Elie Wiesel's Night, a chronicle of surviving the Holocaust, adapted by Lisa Montecalvo's Advanced English Language Arts class at Dr. E.A. Ricci Middle School in North Providence. The performance takes place on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Monday, April 28, 7:00-9:00pm, with actors from Trinity Rep's Young Actors Studio High School Collaborative under the direction of associate artistic director Tyler Dobrowsky.
