The evening included the presentation of the Ford's Theatre Lincoln Medal to actor James Earl Jones and the U.S. House of Representatives' longest-serving member, The Honorable John D. Dingell. The award was given in recognition of their extraordinary character, service, accomplishments and work reflecting Lincoln's legacy of humanity, wisdom, eloquence and vision.

Sony Pictures Television today announced several exciting changes within the ranks of the senior staff of its successful daytime talk series The Queen Latifah Show naming Todd Yasui as Executive Producer and Jack Mori and Ianthe Jones as Co-Executive Producers leading into the show's sophomore season.

During a speech yesterday, May 20, at the Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity dinner, George Clooney announced a significant expansion of the Satellite Sentinel Project, an initiative he co-founded three years ago. Philanthropist and jewelry designer Joan Hornig will receive the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor Award presented annually by The National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations (NECO) to Americans who have made it their mission to share with those less fortunate their wealth of knowledge, indomitable courage, boundless compassion, unique talents and selfless generosity; all while maintaining the traditions of their ethnic heritage as they uphold the ideals and spirit of America. The awards will be presented May 10 on historic Ellis Island at an elegant ceremony and dinner that embodies the spirit of America in their celebration of patriotism, tolerance, brotherhood and diversity. Yousuf Karsh: American Portraits Second Installation, May 2 through Nov. 2 This installation includes a second selection of portraits by iconic photographer Yousuf Karsh in celebration of a gift of more than 100 works to the National Portrait Gallery. Photographs include Clark Gable, Martha Graham, Helen Keller, the Apollo XI Crew, Isamu Noguchi, Andy Warhol and Elie Wiesel.

Trinity Rep and the Holocaust Education and Resource Center of Rhode Island present a staged reading of select passages from Elie Wiesel's Night, a chronicle of surviving the Holocaust, adapted by Lisa Montecalvo's Advanced English Language Arts class at Dr. E.A. Ricci Middle School in North Providence. The performance takes place on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Monday, April 28, 7:00-9:00pm, with actors from Trinity Rep's Young Actors Studio High School Collaborative under the direction of associate artistic director Tyler Dobrowsky.
