As previews begin for Timothy Sheader's production of To Kill a Mockingbird this evening, Regent's Park Open Air Theatre announce full casting for the 2013 season.
Regent's Park Open Air Theatre has announced today that Robert Sean Leonard will play Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird, the first production of the 2013 season. The Tony award-winning American actor is best known for playing Dr. James Wilson in the Fox television series House and Neil Perry in the 1989 movie Dead Poets Society. Having frequently performed on and off Broadway since 1986, To Kill a Mockingbird will mark Robert's return to the London stage for the first time in 22 years. MATILDA THE MUSICAL made its West End debut last November in a brand new musical version by Dennis Kelly and award-winning musician and comedian Tim Minchin, whose website announced today that the show will be included in the 2013 Guinness Book of World Records for the most Olivier Award wins.

Today, Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post that the show is now aiming to open on Broadway in the Spring of 2013, produced by the RSC themselves and overseen by Andre Ptaszynski, who formerly ran Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Really Useful Group.
