From Musketeers to Blair on 'The Facts of Life' to 'Survivor' to The Alhambra Theatre & Dining in Jacksonville, FL, it's a new adventure for Lisa Whelchel and one that is sure to be a hit at the nation's longest running professional dinner theater. In what might actually seem like a plot line from 'The Facts of Life,' Whelchel will be appearing with her real-life daughter, Clancy Cauble. Opening February 18, Whelchel and Cauble will appear for a limited in run in the Tony® Award winning play, Butterflies are Free.

The Claire Trevor School of the Arts (CTSA) at the University of California, Irvine has announced the world premiere of a new play by award-winning playwright Luke Yankee.

MISS JULIE Runs Now thru 11/8 at August Strindberg Rep

From today, October 21 to November 8, August Strindberg Repertory will transport Strindberg's 'Miss Julie' to an antebellum Louisiana plantation in a new interpretation conceived by Artistic Director Robert Greer and adapted by Edgar Chisholm from a translation by Greer. The production will include a ballet sequence, which Strindberg specified in the original manuscript and which has never been performed before. The piece will be directed by Robert Greer and choreographed by Ja' Malik.

BWW Reports: LUKE YANKEE's New Play About the AFTERMATH of the TITANIC

A new play by award-winning playwright Luke Yankee will receive its world premiere at UC-Irvine this November. The Last Lifeboat is the untold story of J. Bruce Ismay, the owner of the White Star Line at the time of the sinking of the Titanic, whose decision to save himself rather than go down with the ship made him the scapegoat for one of the greatest disasters of all time. An ensemble cast playing multiple roles tells this epic tale which explores not only the tragedy itself, but the sensationalized trials and aftermath of the night that changed the world forever. The production will be directed and produced by Don Hill, Vice Chair of the UCI Drama Department.

William Inge Center for the Arts Welcomes Karen Carpenter as New Interim Artistic Director

Karen Carpenter, a producer, director and teacher, a theater-maker for more than 30 years, has been appointed the interim Artistic Director of the William Inge Center for the Arts and the 34th Annual William Inge Theatre Festival. The Inge Festival is the Official Theater Festival of the State of Kansas, hosted on the campus of Independence Community College, which houses the William Inge archives.

Westport Country Playhouse Hosts Burry Fredrik Tribute, 7/1

A celebration of the life of Tony Award-winning producer and noted director Burry Fredrik (1925-2012) will be hosted by Westport Country Playhouse on Sunday, July 1, 3 p.m. The tribute will be in the campus' Lucille Lortel White Barn Center's Sheffer Rehearsal Studio, 25 Powers Court, Westport, CT. A reception will follow. Fredrik died in her Weston, Connecticut home on May 22 caused by complications from a stroke she suffered over two years ago.
