Two of Britain's most innovative and acclaimed performers will bring their very different styles to the Café Carlyle later this month. Beloved star of stage and screen, John Standing, will make his Café Carlyle debut with his one-man show, 'Performing Noël Coward' from February 23 through March 6. London singing sensation Barb Jungr is returning to the legendary venue with an all new show. 'River' will play six (6) performances only from February 25 to March 6, and will launch a new series of late-night shows designed to provide an attractive new entertainment option for the Café Carlyle's sophisticated clientele.
DANKHaus, Chicago's German American cultural center located in historic Lincoln Square, presents Blue Angel Cabaret, an annual event to benefit the fine arts programming. The event features cabaret performer Elizabeth Doyle singing German and French music in 'Cabaret during the German Weimar Republic.'

Following a sold-out Canadian tour, Michel Legrand returns to New York for a special one-night engagement at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center on Saturday, November 21st at 8PM. Me neither. But apparently playwrights Alfred Preisser and Randy Weiner have and their answer is the Classical Theater of Harlem's crazily entertaining semi-spoof, Archbishop Supreme Tartuffe.
Although that bountiful cornucopia of high praise, John 'I Loved It!' Simon, chose to heap lavish compliments on those he saw as standouts with his usual critical generosity, I'd rather not review the performances showcased by Scott and Barbara Siegel in their second annual concert of new talent, Broadway's Rising Stars. Oh, if I did, words like dazzling, beautiful and heartfelt would certainly come to mind, but I'd rather see last Monday night's show as a celebration of all the new faces without comparing their abilities at this early stage of their careers.

The new season at TIFT will begin on October 22 with the premiere of A Tale of How Ivan Ivanovich and Ivan Nikiforovich Had a Fight, followed by the concert production of Gypsy from November 25 and 26th. Next up is Assassins at the Downtown Theater Jan 21-30.
