Shannon Murdoch, an Australian playwright, has won the 2011 Yale Drama Series competition for her play New Light Shine, a work about four small-town lives linked through a violent crime and their hopeless attempts to erase the past and build new lives.

Broadway favorites Brian Stokes Mitchell and Barbara Walsh are now scheduled to join the all-star cast on stage to salute Terrence McNally on Monday, March 28, 2011 at the Longacre Theatre at 7:00pm. A benefit for The Acting Company, Ms. Lansbury has gathered Audra McDonald, Alan Cumming, Tyne Daly, Edie Falco, Roger Rees and Raul Esparza who will sing, share memories and recreate scenes from dozens of McNally hits. John Glover, Marin Mazzie, Joyce DiDonato, Malcolm Gets, Emily Skinner, Alexandra Silber, Bobby Steggert, Jason Danieley and Stephen Bogardus will round out the evening.

THE HOUSE OF BLUE LEAVES, directed by David Cromer, will open on Monday, April 25, 2011 at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48th Street). Katori Hall Wins 2011 Blackburn Prize

The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has announced Katori Hall as the winner of its prestigious playwriting award, now celebrating its thirty-third year. The Houston-based Prize received the 2010 Theatre Communications Group's National Funder Award. The annual honor goes to a company, foundation or other entity for 'leadership and sustained national support of theater in America.

The evening included remarks by a stellar group of Baldwin's friends and colleagues, as well as numerous scenes from his career. Among the presenters were Tim Curry, Edie Falco, Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey, Michael Keaton, Lorne Michaels, Bill Pullman, Mercedes Ruehl, Ben Stiller & Alexandra Wentworth.

Last night, February 14, NAKED ANGELS celebrated its 25th anniversary as one of the most innovative theatre companies in New York with a spectacular Gala, including cocktails, an elegant dinner and skits written and performed by Naked Angels company members.
