Laura Benanti and Brian Stokes Mitchell will host the Creative Arts portion of the 2009 Tony Awards. At 7pm, viewers will be able to login at TonyAwards.com to watch the Creative Arts categories immediately prior to the CBS Broadcast. It is not yet known which awards will fill this segment, however last year's categories included Best Orchestrations and the Design awards.

New York's Naked Angels (Geoffrey Nauffts, Artistic Director; Brittany O'Neill, Managing Director) presents the World Premiere production of Geoffrey Nauffts' new play Next Fall (formerly titled The Gospel According To Adam), directed by Sheryl Kaller. The cast features Patrick Breen, Maddie Corman, Sean Dugan, Patrick Heusinger, Connie Ray, and Cotter Smith.

Additional performances for the 63rd Annual Tony Awards® Telecast were announced today. Dolly Parton along with the cast of 9 to 5: The Musical; Elton John with the cast of Billy Elliot, The Musical; Liza Minnelli; Stockard Channing; and the band Poison along with the cast of Rock of Ages, will be taking the stage, joining previously announced performances by this year's Tony-nominated Best Musicals and Best Musical Revivals, including: Billy Elliot, The Musical; Guys and Dolls; HAIR; Next to Normal; Pal Joey; Rock of Ages; Shrek the Musical; and West Side Story.

Once again, On 3 Productions will produce the official host & presenters gift lounge, backstage at the Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday June 7th. Celebrity host Neil Patrick Harris and presenters Anne Hathaway, Jane Fonda, John Stamos, Edie Falco, Colin Hanks and many more will have an opportunity to choose from 'must-haves' in the official Lipton Gift Lounge. What's On Stage is reporting that Brenda Blethyn will return to the Manchester Royal Exchange theatre to star in Edna O'Brien's Haunted. The production will be the play's world premiere.

The new Broadway musical-comedy, 9 To 5: The Musical starring four-time Emmy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Allison Janney, Stephanie J. Block, Megan Hilty, and two-time Tony Award nominee Marc Kudisch began preview performances on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 and opened last night, Thursday, April 30, 2009, at the Marriott Marquis Theatre (1535 Broadway).

The Lincoln Center Theater production of August Wilson's Joe Turner's Come and Gone, directed by Bartlett Sher, opened on Broadway at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44 Street) on Thursday, April 16 at 6:45pm. Broadwayworld.com was there to catch the starry arrivals!

On Monday, June 8th, at 10:30 PM ET/PT, SHOWTIME will premiere the new, half-hour dark comedy NURSE JACKIE, marking the triumphant return to premium television of Emmy Award-winning actress Edie Falco. The series, inspired from the provocative journal of a real-life Manhattan ER nurse, is executive produced by Caryn Mandabach, John Melfi, Liz Brixius and Linda Wallem.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) presented its annual 2009 Spring Gala hosted by Tony Award winner Nathan Lane (Waiting for Godot, The Producers) on Monday, April 6th, 2009.
