Hy Juter and Edmund Gaynes will present 'DANNY and SYLVIA: THE DANNY KAYE MUSICAL' at the St. Luke's Theatre, 308 West 46th Street, beginning Saturday, May 2nd at 2 pm with the official opening on Wednesday, May 13 at 8 PM

A new musical comedy revue, 'DON'T LEAVE IT ALL TO YOUR CHILDREN!', written and directed by SAUL ILSON and starring BARBARA MINKUS ('Picon Pie'), MARCIA RODD ('The Last of the Red Hot Lovers'), STEVE ROSSI (of Allen & Rossi) and RONNIE SCHELL (Gomer Pyle), will make its New York debut on Wednesday, May 6th at off-Broadway's Actors Temple Theatre, 339 West 47th Street, NYC. Musical numbers will be staged by Rudy Tronto.

After a 48 year absence, Bye Bye Birdie will return to Broadway this fall presented by Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) in a production starring John Stamos (Albert Peterson), Gina Gershon (Rose Alvarez), Bill Irwin (Mr. Harry MacAfee) and Jayne Houdyshell (Mrs. Mae Peterson). Directed & choreographed by Robert Longbottom, Bye Bye Birdie has a book by Michael Stewart, lyrics by Lee Adams and music by Charles Strouse. Roundabout is proud to welcome back three artists who have previously worked at the theatrical institution: John Stamos, Gina Gershon and Bill Irwin.

On a special Wednesday, March 25 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) performance show, the Top 10 finalists (Kris Allen, Anoop Desai, Matt Giraud, Danny Gokey, Allison Iraheta, Megan Joy, Adam Lambert, Scott MacIntyre, Lil Rounds and Michael Sarver) will return to the IDOL stage to celebrate and pay tribute to '50 Years of Motown' as well as perform classic Motown songs.

Friends In Deed will present a legendary trio as Charles Busch, Whoopi Goldberg and Lypsinka star in the first-ever New York presentation of the infamous Broadway-play-that-wasn't, LEGENDS!. Of the few songwriting teams known as one word we have Rodgers & Hart, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Kander & Ebb and...Lerner & Loewe. These two men created many of America's most well-known musical theater scores. They weren't nearly as prolific as those others mentioned, but in listing their works together, there's not one clinker among them. Their first hit was Brigadoon in 1947, then came Paint Your Wagon in 1951, My Fair Lady in 1956, the film Gigi for MGM in 1958 and finally Camelot in 1960.

The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting that TV, film and Broadway star Patty Duke will be joining the company of WICKED San Francisco, replacing Carole Kane as Madame Morrible after her final show on March 22. Kane was only in San Francisco on an 8 week contract.

Directed by Curt Columbus, this riveting family drama, written by David Hare, is among the best local productions I have seen this season.
