Casting and Production Crew Announced for THE LIAR

Casting has been announced for The Liar, David Ives's "translaptation" of Pierre Corneille's 1643 farce of the same name, according to Ed Rutherford, the Promethean Theatre Ensemble artistic associate who is directing the production. The title character, Dorante, a charming young man who cannot tell the truth, will be played by Josh Hambrock. Dorante's love interest Clarice (who he believes to be named Lucrece, the name of her friend who will be played by Katherine Schwartz) will be played by ensemble member Meghann Tabor.

Brown Paper Box Co.'s THE BALTIMORE WALTZ Opens this Weekend!

Brown Paper Box Co. is excited to announce their second main stage production of their 2016/2017 season - The Baltimore Waltz by Pulitzer Prize winner Paula Vogel. This production opens this week, on Saturday, January 21, 2017 and runs Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2:30 PM through February 19, 2017 at The Frontier in Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood (1106 W. Thorndale Avenue). A preview is scheduled for Friday, January 20, along with special Monday night performances on January 23 and February 6, both of which begin at 7:30 PM. Additionally, this production is a participant of Chicago Theatre Week 2017 and The Ghostlight Project and all tickets are on sale now. Promethean Theatre Ensemble Sets 2016-17 Season

Promethean Ensemble Theatre will enter its second decade with three plays that view characters and stories of the past through the eyes of modern playwrights. Leading off the season in December will be Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde, Moises Kaufman's 1997 biographical play about playwright Oscar Wilde's 1895 trials and ultimate conviction for the crime of homosexuality. Promethean Theatre Ensemble Artistic Director Brian Pastor will direct.
