A Tuna Christmas opens tonight at Chicago Street Theatre, and because the name of the show has such a food connotation, we are partnering with the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana to collect canned goods for families in need.
Master comedians Joe Sears and Jaston Williams-with their deft comedic timing, trademark characterizations, and split-second costume changes-bring all 24 citizens of Tuna back to the TPAC stage, November 30 through December 5.
Visiting - or, more accurately, revisiting - the fine folks of Tuna, Texas, during the holiday season is akin to seeing all those crazy old friends or wacky members of your own family. You might be a little embarrassed by their antics, but you remember them lovingly and you're sure to have a great time when in their company, no matter how off-kilter they might be.
Oklahoma City-Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre (CityRep) presents the rollicking, two-man tour de force, A TUNA CHRISTMAS by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears and Ed Howard. A TUNA CHRISTMAS is the sequel to the audience favorite GREATER TUNA, where we welcome beloved characters like Vera Carp and Aunt Pearl Burris, and meet several new ones-including Inita Goodwin and Helen Bedd, who wait tables and cover the drive-thru at the local Tastee Kreme. Radio OKKK news personalities Thurston Wheelis and Arles Struvie are there to reintroduce us to all the denizens in the third-smallest town in Texas.
