The Martha Graham Dance Company has invited The Hartt School, along with just six other collegiate dance programs, to perform at the Joyce Theater in New York as part of the Company's 86thAnniversary season.

Tom Chambers and Summer Strallen take the lead roles of Jerry Travers and Dale Tremont in Top Hat which receives its West End stage premiere at the Aldwych Theatre previewing from 19 April, with press night on 9 May 2012. The show is currently booking at the Aldwych Theatre until 26 January 2013. Tonight (13 March 2012) Top Hat opens at the New Victoria Theatre Woking where it will play until 17 March 2012 before visiting Bristol Hippodrome (21 - 31 March 2012) prior to its West End run.

Garmany Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving has renewed its support for School's Richard P. Garmany Chamber Music Series through 2014. The Fund, which has been the principal underwriter of the Series since its inception, will provide Hartt with $53,000 for each of the next two seasons.

The Hartt School of the University of Hartford in Connecticut has announced that Eran Bugge of the Paul Taylor Dance Company will be the recipient of the 2012 Hartt Alumni Award. The Award will be conferred on Ms. Bugge, who received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The Hartt School in 2005, during Commencement ceremonies on Sunday, May 20, 2012.
