Cape Town audiences have the chance to catch popular performer, and everyone's favourite Belgian, Gaetan Schmid, in his new show THE BELGIAN. It runs at Kalk Bay Theatre from 6 to 30 November. Gaetan has delighted audiences with his quirky energy and style in shows such as RUMPSTEAK, BODY LANGUAGE and THE DOG'S BOLLOCKS. Directed by Brent Palmer (BENCH, RACE CARD), THE BELGIAN is Gaetan's hilarious trip into the mind of a most misunderstood species: Belgians! Ms. Ivey will receive the John Houseman Award recognizing her profound commitment to the development of American actors and a national audience for the theater. Ms. Fleischman will be presented the Warburg Humanitarian Award for her outstanding philanthropic endeavor and support of the arts. Thomas P. Campbell, Director and CEO of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, announced today that the inaugural exhibition of the newly renovated Costume Institute in spring 2014 will examine the career of legendary 20th-century Anglo-American couturier Charles James (1906-1978). Charles James: Beyond Fashion, on view from May 8 through August 10, 2014 (preceded on May 5 by The Costume Institute Benefit), will be presented in two locations-The Costume Institute's new galleries as well as special exhibitions galleries on the Museum's first floor.

County's 100th Anniversary, Chalk Repertory Theatre will premiere GALLERY SECRETS, four new short plays commissioned by four Los Angeles playwrights performed after hours at NHM. Each play is inspired by an assigned gallery, and set in the time period when that gallery was built, uncovering 100 years of history, architecture and exhibits.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) today announced the execution of an agreement to form a joint venture between a Hyatt affiliate and FSA Group S.A. (FSA), a Libra Group company, to develop and own nine Hyatt Place-branded hotels in Brazil. ArtPlace America Donates $350K to Miami's Adrienne Arsht Center and O Cinema

ArtPlace America, one of the nation's largest organizations committed to creative place-making, is investing $350,000 in new grant dollars for culturally-based development and programming in Miami's urban core. The Adrienne Arsht Center has been awarded a $250,000 grant to establish an Office of Neighborhood Development in association with the Town Square Neighborhood Development Corporation (TSNDC), making it one of the first performing arts centers in the country to have an office dedicated to the development of its surrounding community. O Cinema, Miami's premiere venue for independent, foreign, and art films, has been awarded $100,000 for the development of Cine Al Fresco, a sustainable green space and outdoor theater in Wynwood. ArtPlace America selected the organizations from a pool of more than 1,200 applicants.
