SHEILA'S DAY Opens 3/12 At The Market Theater, South Africa

The 20th anniversary landmark production of Sheila's Day--a rousing musical celebration of the human spirit--opens on March 12th at the famed Market Theatre in Johannesburg, South Africa. The Crossroads Theatre Company production is presented in association with The State Theatre of Pretoria and The Market Theatre of Johannesburg, South Africa. The cast and creative team have been in residence at the Market Theatre since mid-February rehearsing the play written by Award-winning playwright Duma Ndlovu. This historic production of Sheila's Day returns to open at Crossroads Theatre on April 16.

Celebrating the life and work of Broadway Veterans BJ Crosby & Adrian Bailey, this exciting evening will feature performances by Broadway's Chuck Cooper, Marva Hicks, Ebony Jo-Ann, Tina Fabrique, Alyson Williams, The Broadway Boys, Chester Gregory, Multi Award Winning Recording Artist Tonex (currently spelled: 'TON3X') and many more on Monday, November 3rd at The Schomburg Center For Research in Black Culture located in Harlem.

Lincoln Center Announces Series of Events Surrounding 50th Anniversary Celebration

Lincoln Center announced today an exciting series of artistic and educational events and initiatives to celebrate its forthcoming 50th anniversary, officially beginning with a ceremony to commemorate the institution's original groundbreaking in 1959 and ending with a campus-wide open house. The anniversary celebration coincides with the physical transformation of Lincoln Center, designed to make the campus a more open, accessible and vibrant urban destination. Ribbon cuttings will be held throughout the year as redevelopment projects are completed.

Phylicia Rashad Honored at Amas Benefit March 31

Amas Musical Theatre will celebrate its 39th year with a Gala evening on Monday, March 31 featuring a special 'Blast from the Past' concert performance of Mama, I Want to Sing, a star-studded concert of the gospel, pop, and rhythm and blues hit musical that began at Amas in the early nineteen eighties. The Amas Gala will also honor award winning actress Phylicia Rashad and PricewaterhouseCoopers with 'The Rosie Award', named for Amas Founder Rosetta LeNoire.

Kennedy Center Presents: 'August Wilson's 20th Century' Cast & Dates

The most awarded African-American playwright in history, August Wilson's crowning achievement was his ten-play cycle, August Wilson's 20th Century in which each work is set in a different decade in the 1900's. The cycle, often titled the Pittsburgh Cycle because nine of the ten plays are set in Pittsburgh, chronicles the African-American experience in the 20th century. August Wilson's 20th Century will be presented in a series of staged readings at the Kennedy Center.
