East West Players' 45th Season Presents MYSTERIOUS SKIN 9/15

East West Players (EWP), the nation's premier Asian American theatre, opens its 45th Anniversary season, themed Shake It Up, with the Los Angeles premiere of MYSTERIOUS SKIN by Prince Gomolvilas, based on the novel by Scott Heim. This production will be directed by EWP's Producing Artistic Director, Tim Dang. The cast of the production will feature artists with diverse backgrounds: David Huynh, Scott Keiji Takeda, Marcus Choi, Christine Corpuz, Ruffy Landayan, and Elizabeth Liang.

East West Players Opens MYSTERIOUS SKIN, 9/9

East West Players (EWP), the nation's premiere Asian American theater, announces its 45th Anniversary Season, running from September 2010 to June 2011. This season, themed 'Shake It Up' includes MYSTERIOUS SKIN by Prince Gomolvilas based on the novel by Scott Heim, CRIMES OF THE HEART by Beth Henley, WRINKLES by Paul Kikuchi, and KRUNK FU BATTLE BATTLE with book by Qui Nguyen, lyrics by Beau Sia and vocal music by Marc Macalintal.

On Saturday, August 14th, East West Players (EWP) will kick off its 45th season with One Night Only: Hip Hop and Hot. Directed by Marilyn Tokuda with musical direction by Nathan Wang, this one night only benefit performance offers the fun and excitement of a night of watching some of Southern California's best dance crews and will feature the four pillars of hip hop-DJ'ing, MC'ing, Graffiti, and Breaking.

Gilpin, Horton, Houdyshell Set For Roundabout's THE LANGUAGE ARCHIVE

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) is pleased to announce the full company for the upcoming New York premiere of The Language Archive, a new play by Julia Cho, directed by Mark Brokaw. The cast will include Betty Gilpin (Emma), John Horton (Resten), Jayne Houdyshell (Alta), Matt Letscher (George) & Heidi Schreck (Mary).

World Premiere of ROAD TO SAIGON at East West Players Closes 6/13

East West Players (EWP), the nation's premier Asian American theatre, continues its 44th season, themed Art Is..., with the world premiere of ROAD TO SAIGON, developed and directed by Jon Lawrence Rivera, with musical direction and arrangements by Nathan Wang, and featuring Joan Almedilla, Jennifer Paz, and Jenni Selma in the cast. This production of ROAD TO SAIGON is made possible with the generous support of the S. Mark Taper Foundation Endowment for East West Players.

Silk Road Theatre Project Presents Weiko Lin's New Play 100 DAYS 6/12

After his Buddhist mother passes away of cancer, a college circuit comedian on the road has 100 days to marry in order for his mother's spirit to transition in peace. Reluctant to fulfill this superstitious condition, the man awkwardly reunites with his estranged and married high school sweetheart.

Cabaret at the Castle Presents 'An Evening with Anne Fraser Thomas' 6/7

As a cabaret artist, Anne has made a name for herself on both coasts, including Upright Cabaret, Ryan Black's 88s Cabaret, Musical Mondays at Eleven, and Caffeinated Cabaret in Los Angeles; and Birdland, Joe's Pub, Metropolitan Room, Laurie Beechman, Duplex, Splash Bar, Bartini, Therapy, G-Lounge in New York. She recently made both her Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center debuts, singing the works of emerging composers.

Hilty, Eagan, et al. Celebrate 3rd Anniversary of 88's Cabaret, 5/24

Tonight, Monday, May 24th at 8pm, 88's Cabaret is very excited to celebrate its 3rd Anniversary with performances honoring the last three years. The event will be held at La Boheme's sister restaurant Gonpachi in Beverly Hills. Gonpachi will feature a special menu for 88's with something for everyone (and not at Beverly Hills prices!). Appetizers will start at just $3. The cost is $15 to be seated with dinner (with dinner reservation) and $10 for standing room only, with a cash cover at the door. Cover prices have been lowered as a thanks to all patrons over the past three years. There will be a big announcement at the show that 88's is very excited about. The evening will also include give-aways, prizes and surprises.

Photo Flash: ROAD TO SAIGON Runs Until 6/13

'Road to Saigon', East West Players' 44th season finale features three 'Miss Saigon' alumnae Joan Almedilla, Jennifer Paz, and Jenni Selma in an original musical revue where the trio of outstanding vocalists gets to share personal stories about their young adult years, family and romantic relationships, and 17 year old alter ego, Kim. Previous viewing of megamusical inspiration, 'Miss Saigon', is not necessary.

Ryan Black's 88's Cabaret Celebrates Third Anniversary 5/24

88's Cabaret is very excited to celebrate it's 3rd Anniversary Monday, May 24th at 8pm with performances honoring the last 3 years.
