75 years ago T.S. Eliot published Four Quartets, a poetic meditation on time and memory that is widely regarded as his crowning achievement. Now, to celebrate this milestone anniversary, Bard SummerScape 2018 presents the world premiere of Four Quartets, the first authorized dance performance ever to be based on Eliot's modernist masterpiece. A SummerScape commission, the new work is an interdisciplinary collaboration that draws on the talents of three of today's most potent artistic voices. Since making her acclaimed festival debut at SummerScape 2015, Pam Tanowitz has been recognized as "one of the most formally brilliant choreographers around" (New York Times), with honors including a Bessie Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and the prestigious 2017 Cage Cunningham Fellowship.

The 2018 Dance-mopolitan Artist Series, produced by DANCE NOW, presents Megan Williams Dance Projects in ONE WOMAN SHOW, a post-postmodern dance theater follies for the small stage. Megan Williams finds the roots of her aesthetic DNA in the proto-feminist female archetypes of 30s, 40s and 50s Hollywood and uses them as a lens to view the experience of the 21st-century woman-of a-certain-age. Part memoir, part spectacle, ONE WOMAN SHOW aims to grab the moment and hold on tight. The work features celebrated dance artists Esme Boyce, Robert Mark Burke, Derek Crescenti, Dylan Crossman, John Eirich, Kristen Foote, Chelsea Hecht, Courtney Lopes, and Megan Williams. With costume design by Barbara Erin Delo and sound design by Sam Crawford.

During a rare residency opportunity that spanned five months, McNamara created a one-of-a-kind work made in and for the unique architecture of the Guggenheim's Peter B. Lewis Theater. Audience members act as embedded witnesses to the three dance squads battling for dominance in each of the space's three zones: the Red Choir Loft, the Green Balcony, and the Blue Stage.

In actuality, it's a set Wright prophetically designed for the sci-fi cosplay house-music ballet-battle that fell into my mind the moment I saw the space. The Peter B. The Joyce Theater Foundation Kicks Off 2016-2017 Fall & Winter Season With a Special Event

After a robust and diverse 2015-2016 season of dance, The Joyce Theater Foundation (Linda Shelton, Executive Director), New York City's premiere presenter of dance, proudly kicks off its 2016-2017 Fall & Winter Season with NY Quadrille, a unique two-week long engagement conceived & curated by famed choreographer Lar Lubovitch, and featuring world premieres by four acclaimed choreographers/companies Pam Tanowitz Dance, RoseAnne Spradlin, Tere O'Connor Dance and Loni Landon Dance Project. The title of the engagement, NY Quadrille, was inspired by the 18th century dance of the same name - a "quadrille" was a dance performed in a rectangular configuration and seen from four sides - therefore, The Joyce Theaterwill be temporarily transformed from September 27 - October 9. Each choreographers' quadrille will be performed in their own program, with each program performed four times over the two week season.

Abrons Arts Center Sets 2016-17 Season

On February 12, 1915, the Abrons Arts Center's Henry Street Settlement Playhouse opened its doors on the Lower East Side. Since that day, it has remained a vital cultural resource, providing audiences with artistically bold work while offering artists opportunities to dynamically grow. Since becoming Artistic Director in 2006, Jay Wegman has done much more than maintain "one of the last standing locations for avant-garde performance downtown" (The New York Times, 2009). He has created an arts venue that is unique to the city's cultural landscape, presenting an international mix of cutting-edge performing and visual artists, both established and emerging, from across the country and around the world, as well as from New York City. In a 2015 New York Times profile, Wegman says Abrons is "a place for people to succeed or fail or land somewhere in between."

The Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) presents Oscillating While Dreaming, a site-specific dance piece created by Dylan Crossman, in response to an installation of outdoor bronze sculptures- Wandering Mountain (2014) and Temptation (2014) - by the noted sculptor and leading figure in American art furniture, Wendell Castle. The performance will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 2pm and 4pm, in conjunction with Wendell Castle Remastered on view October 20, 2015 - February 28, 2016 at the Museum.
