- Nov 27, 2013
Irving Berlin's White Christmas is just the thing to get you into the holiday spirit. Besides a heartfelt story, the beautiful John W. Engeman Theatre of Northport also went all out for an early kickoff to the holiday season. Donning their lobby with Christmas decorations and playing classic Christmas carols over the loud speaker as you entered the theater, you knew you right away you were in for a wonderful holiday treat.

BWW Reviews: Go Dream a Little at John W.Engeman Theater's 42ND STREET
by Estelle Hallick
- Apr 20, 2012
In 42nd Street, the latest production tap dancing its way on stage at the John W. Engeman Theater through June 17th, Peggy Sawyer is that girl. A rookie actress from Allentown, PA, she quite literally bumps into the opportunity of a lifetime - the chance to be part of big time director Julian Marsh's new musical. Darien Crago is instantly likeable as Peggy - bright-eyed and full of positivity. And she has every reason to be that way - the girl can dance circles around anyone without breaking a sweat (especially in the delightful dance competition between Crago and Drew Humphrey on a city street). In the right place at the right time, she gets a part in the show and more off-stage drama than she bargained for.

BWW Reviews: Rambunctious Production's SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS - Entertaining and Engaging
by Harrison Kaplan
- Aug 3, 2011
When the 1954 musical Seven Brides for Seven Brothers was initially adapted for the stage it didn't meet with much success on Broadway back in the early 1980's (film director Joshua Logan had actually optioned the story for a stage musical). Yes, it's yet another adaptation culled from the big screen, which has been par for the course at The Muny this season, although to be fair, most of them have fared quite well, and actually, with its old fashioned themes, original CinemaScope filming, and rustic backdrops, this one fits the huge Muny boards like a glove, allowing the natural beauty of the trees that grace the back area of the stage to fill in for the frontier setting as realized by Steve Gilliams' scenic design. It's also an energetic, dance driven show that's both entertaining and engaging.
