Lincoln Center Theater has announced its first two productions of 2018.

What happens when you discover your father is a sexual predator? For the first theatrical show in its new Fear Series, Jersey City Theater Center (JCTC) presents Spitting In The Face Of The Devil, a daring, uplifting and often comedic solo show by acclaimed monologist Bob Brader.

16th Street Theater announces their Season Eleven 2018: Heroes featuring five thrilling plays about combat and those who wield weapons by authors Kathleen Cahill and Sean Christopher Lewis, and Chicago writers Ike Holter, Aline Lathrop, and J. Babes With Blades Theatre Company (BWBTC) launches its 20th Anniversary Season: "Origins" with its 20th world premiere The Invisible Scarlet O'Neil, playing at the Factory Theater, 1623 W. Howard St., September 2 - October 14. Based on the 1940s comic strip by Russell Stamm, the new play is written by BWBTC Ensemble Member Barbara Lhota, directed by Ensemble Member Leigh Barrett and features violence design by Ensemble Member Libby Beyreis. After the death of his father, meek Jason finds an outlet for his anxiety at the Christian Puppet Ministry, in the devoutly religious, relatively quiet small town of Cypress, Texas. Jason's complicated relationships with the town pastor, the school bully, the girl next door, and-most especially-his mother are thrown into upheaval when Jason's puppet, Tyrone, takes on a shocking and dangerously irreverent personality all its own. Hand To God explores the startlingly fragile nature of faith, morality, and the ties that bind us.

The Old Globe presents the first show of its 2017-2018 Season, the world premiere musical Benny & Joon, with book by Kirsten Guenther, music by Nolan Gasser, and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein.
