The Tony-nominated Best Musical by Frank Wildhorn and Nan Knighton, The Scarlet Pimpernel, returned to the New York stage at Feinstein's/54 Below for a one-night-only celebration of its tempestuous and much-beloved score. The concerts featured cast members from the original THREE Broadway versions of the show as well as additional stars who would likely be cast in the show if it were revived today. Once again, New York City audiences got the chance to hear songs like 'Into the Fire,' 'Falcon in the Dive,' 'When I Look at You,' 'Storybook,' and 'Where's the Girl?' performed by stars who know how to sing them. Produced, directed, and hosted by Scott Siegel. Musical Direction by Ross Patterson.

DON GRIGWARE Picks The BEST PRODUCTIONS AND PERFORMANCES in LOS ANGELES THEATRE for 2015
by Don Grigware
- Dec 28, 2015
There are undoubtedly other productions worthy of merit in 2015 which I did not cover. This list is based only on what I saw and reviewed.
(alphabetical listings; Equity, Equity-waiver & Non-Equity productions are mixed)
(artists performing outside LA may be included in performance categories)
No set, costume, or technical awards. I leave that to the bigger awards and to the expertise of those who really know those fields inside out.

BWW Reviews: Kelrik's SWEENEY TODD a Dynamite Hit at the El Portal
by Don Grigware
- Apr 14, 2015
Sweeney Todd first bowed on Broadway in late 1979. Fortunately, I was in New York to witness the brilliant achievement of Hugh Wheeler and Stephen Sondheim, Angela Lansbury and Len Cariou and the entire creative team. Kelrik Productions is presenting the masterwork for the first time, hardly an easy task in a small intimate theatre space such as the Monroe Forum Theatre of the El Portal. Well, let me tell you, they may be exceedingly proud of this production, as it replicates just about everything that the original achieved, minus a full orchestra. Every detail, every move and every musical beat are in line with wonderful musical director Joe Lawrence at the piano. With a perfect cast and brilliantly inventive direction and staging from Kristin Towers-Rowles, this Sweeney Todd could not be better.

Scott Siegel Presents 54 BELOW SINGS SINATRA with All-Star Cast Tonight
by BWW News Desk
- Oct 8, 2014
Frank Sinatra is the most beloved and admired singer of our lifetime. He sold 150 million records and won 11 Grammy Awards, but that hardly begins to tell his story. 54 Below will honor Francis Albert Sinatra with an extraordinary evening of his most famous hits from throughout his career. The concert will offer Sinatra's early tunes like 'The Coffee Song,' mid-career hits like 'All the Way,' and 'Come Fly With Me,' and from there to the classic years with songs like 'It Was a Very Good Year,' and 'My Way.' Fascinating and little-known Sinatra anecdotes will pepper the evening, but the show will ultimately be all about the music, highlighting his greatest hits. The stars who sing his songs will be among the best and the brightest America has to offer. And most important, the songs will be performed in the style that made them famous by Sinatra in the first place. Simply put, this will be an unforgettable tribute to America's greatest star.
