Experiments in Opera—the composer-driven collective with an air of mad scientists in the lab—opens its 2015-16 season with the premiere of 11 new commissions for ensemble and voice in The Travel Agency is On Fire: Burroughs Cuts Up the Great Bards, presented Friday, October 16, 2015 at the East Village avant-garde haven The Stone.Two sets take place at 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Each set features different songs.

Asolo Repertory Theatre opens its 2013-14 rep season with PHILADELPHIA, HERE I COME! Directed by Academy Award nominee and two-time Tony Award winner Frank Galati, previews for the show will be held January 7 - 9 and the production will run from January 10 - April 12.

Last night, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas spent a perfect night out on Broadway at the hit musical Newsies. During intermission, they were reading through their Playbill, discussing the cast and noting the work of Tony Award-winning choreographer Christopher Gattelli. Also on the CD will be English Baritone Mark Stone singing Goodnight Moon also by Margaret Wise Brown. The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's star-studded 12th Annual Monte Cristo Awards honored tonight, April 16, the distinguished accomplishments and contributions of long-time Trustee Michael Douglas to the American Theater. After a year and a half hiatus, Seth Rudetsky's famed Seth's Broadway Chatterbox returned to Don't Tell Mama on Thursday, January 5, with Douglas Carter Beane and the cast of LYSISTRATA JONES. Seth's Broadway Chatterbox includes interviews and performances by noted Broadway celebrities and is a raw, funny and insightful interview program that really has no equal. Chatterbox will run regularly at Don't Tell Mama on Thursday nights at 6pm.

Broadway Rhythm and Booze, a cabaret series created as a platform to highlight the soulful talents of the Broadway community, will take place on Monday, August 29th at Tillman's Bar & Lounge, 165 West 26th Street (between 6th and 7th avenue), doors open at 7pm, performance begins at 8pm.

Lynn Nottage attended one of the final Asolo Rep performances of her play, Las Meninas, in Sarasota on the evening of May 12, 2011. Her visit included a gathering on stage with the director and cast after their standing ovation performance.

Rehearsals are underway for La Bête, Twelve Angry Men, and Boeing Boeing, which open on January 7, 14, and 21, respectively.
