Barbara Hamilton Memorial Award was inaugurated in 1996 and is given to a Canadian artist who demonstrates excellence in the performing arts and is dedicated to advocating and being an ambassador for the arts in Canada. The Barbara Hamilton Memorial Award is sponsored by the City of Toronto, and the recipient is awarded with a scroll and a cheque for $1,000 from the City.

Graham Brown, a New York City born actor, died on Tuesday, 13 December. He was 87 and succumbed to Pulmonary Failure at the Lillian Booth Actors' Fund Nursing Home in Englewood, New Jersey where he'd been a resident since 2009.

Douglas Campbell, renowned actor and director died at age 87 on Tuesday at Montreal's Hôtel Dieu hospital of complications of diabetes and heart disease.
