Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey to Present CORIOLANUS

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey continues its 54th season with William Shakespeare's intense political drama, Coriolanus. Performances begin July 6 and continue through July 24 at the F.M. Shakespeare Theatre Announces New Shakespeare Academy Classes

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey has announced that its new Shakespeare Theatre Academy begins its second year, offering youth and adult classes in a wide range of disciplines connected with classic theatre as well as two new weekend intensives on the 'art of auditioning.' Classes meet once a week in the Theatre's exciting support/education facility and give participants the opportunity to work under the instruction of The Shakespeare Theatre's renowned artistic and education staff and guest teaching artists. 'Whether a student is taking his or her first theatre class or this experience is just one step on an ever-evolving theatrical exploration, The Shakespeare Theatre Academy provides compelling, enriching, and fun opportunities for the hidden artist in everyone,' said Director of Education Brian B. Crowe. The new one or two day intensives offer valuation instruction offer those eager to hone their audition skills.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey launches its 2012 milestone 50th Anniversary season with William Shakespeare's saga of a young prince's reformation and ascent to manhood - Henry IV, Part One. Considered one of Shakespeare's most popular history plays, this rousing tale has not been produced on The Shakespeare Theatre stage in 20 years. Henry IV, Part One begins performances tonight, May 30 and runs through June 24 at the Theatre's Main Stage - the F. M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre. Macbeth runs from April 3 to 19, 2009 in a limited engagement at the Clemente Soto Velez Center (Flamboyan Theater), located at 107 Suffolk Street, between Rivington & Delancey, in NYC. Official opening is April 3. The play follows on the heels of the company's acclaimed 2008 production of Bertolt Brecht's The Caucasian Chalk Circle, which received a 2008 NY Innovative Theater Award nomination for Outstanding Production Of A Play.
