Doug Reside Named New Curator of New York Public Library for the Performing Arts' Billy Rose Theatre Division

The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts has named Doug Reside the new Curator of the Billy Rose Theatre Division at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts in Lincoln Center. In his new role, effective immediately, Reside will lead a team of staff in expanding access, services, and outreach connected to The Billy Rose Theatre Division, one of the largest and most comprehensive archives devoted to the theatrical arts. Reside succeeds Karen Nickeson, who retired from the position in June.

UnsungMusicalsCo. (UMC) will launch its 2014 developmental reading series at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts with a special presentation of Peggy-Ann, the hit 1926 musical comedy with a book by Tony Award winner Herbert Fields (Annie Get Your Gun) and a score by the legendary songwriting team of Richard Rodgers & Lorenz Hart (Pal Joey, On Your Toes). The reading, directed by Ben West (Unsung Carolyn Leigh, The Fig Leaves Are Falling, At Home Abroad), will be held Thursday, May 22 at 2:30 PM in the Bruno Walter Auditorium.

Emilee Dupre (Venice, Chaplin), Jacob Hoffman (I'll Be Damned), Aaron Kaburick (Billy Elliot), Brent McBeth (White Christmas),Christopher Ryan (Young Frankenstein) and Clifton Samuels (Follies) have joined the cast of UnsungMusicalsCo.'s new Off-Broadway production of the 1950 musical revue Bless You All! with sketches by Emmy Award winner Arnold Auerbach ('The Phil Silvers Show,' Call Me Mister) and a score by acclaimed songwriter Harold Rome (Fanny, Destry Rides Again).

UnsungMusicalsCo. (UMC) has announced initial casting for its new Off-Broadway production of the 1950 musical revue Bless You All! with sketches by Emmy Award winner Arnold Auerbach ("The Phil Silvers Show," Call Me Mister) and a score by acclaimed songwriter Harold Rome (Fanny, Destry Rides Again). Directed by UMC artistic director Ben West (The Fig Leaves Are Falling, At Home Abroad), the limited three-week engagement will run Sep 19 - Oct 5 at The Connelly Theatre (220 East 4th Street), officially opening Sep 22.
