Following a 17-month run in the smash Off-Broadway spoof Spamilton, where she impersonated divas from Liza Minnelli to Barbra Streisand, Dorothy Bishop is primed to dazzle you on Friday, June 1st at 9:30 at the Triad Theater in her 'novel and hysterical' (Huffington Post) show 'The Dozen Divas.'

The Manhattan Association of Cabarets (MAC) is pleased to announce the 2018 MAC Award nominees. The nominees, in a majority of the categories, were determined by votes cast by the active MAC membership. The MAC Board of Directors selected the nominees for Show of the Year. Special committees selected the nominees in the Ensemble Instrumentalist, Piano Bar Instrumentalist, Piano Bar Singing Entertainer (Female; Male), Recording (LaMott Friedman), Major Recording, Song and Comedy/Novelty Song categories. The names of the songwriters in the Song and Comedy/Novelty Song categories are being withheld during the voting period, but will be announced publicly as soon as the voting period concludes.

As it bids farewell to its home of 11 years, the Metropolitan Room will present 24 continuous hours of free-wheeling entertainment -- from Sunday September 24 at 9pm, to Monday September 25 at 9pm. Featuring a mind-boggling 144 individual acts, with over a dozen emcees, and a battalion of musicians, technicians and hangers-on, the Metropolitan Room's 3rd annual Cabaret Marathon Extravaganza It's a Tradition was spawned by the Metropolitan Room's first record-setting (60-hour) entertainment marathon in January 2015. That massive undertaking shattered the Guinness World Record for longest variety show ever.

Media personality Shefik (Executive Producer and Host of the nationally-syndicated radio show, Shefik presents Invocation) has been named guest speaker at the 7th Annual Broadway Sing for Pride charity event, which takes place at The Goldman-Sonnenfeldt Family Auditorium.

The Dozen Divas (Dorothy Bishop) performed at at the Metropolitan Room last night and Broadwayworld was there.  This was a special show to celebrate the birthday of Sandra McFarland and all the  divas present came wrapped up in one person: international performer and 'America's Got Talent' finalist Dorothy Bishop.

Streisand is coming to Cortland!  Not only that, she's bringing her friends Cher, Dolly, Liza, Adele and more when The Dozen Divas arrive at Cortland Repertory Theatre Downtown on Friday and Saturday, April 15 and 16.  Even more amazing, all these divas come wrapped up in one person: international performer and "America's Got Talent" finalist Dorothy Bishop. This multi-talented singer and impersonator will perform her live - not lip-synced - production at the new CRT Downtown theatre at 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland.  Doors will open at 7:00 and the performance begins at 7:30.

On Thanksgiving Day, BroadwayWorld announced the nominees in 14 categories for the 2015 BWW New York Cabaret Awards. BroadwayWorld's cabaret editors and reviewers congratulate all the deserving nominees and everyone who performs in the great art of cabaret in New York. But today, as you munch on the leftovers from last night's dinner, it's time to actually vote for that one performer who you think is the absolute best in each category. Voting ends on December 31 and after a review of the ballots, winners will be announced officially early the week of January 4, 2016. (Note: There will not be a BWW Awards Show this year.)

Happy Thanksgiving Day, Cabaret Fans! Here's some breaking news you can discuss and debate in between courses at tonight's dinner: It's the final nominees for the 2015 BroadwayWorld New York Cabaret Awards. This year, the cabaret editors and writers at BWW have cited 116 nominees (including duos and variety show/recurring series producers) in 14 categories. In addition, this year six performers or musicians have been cited for special “Editor's Choice Awards,” led by veteran New York cabaret stars Karen Mason and Mark Nadler who have been named “Performers of the Year.”

?Pantochino Productions and the Milford Arts Council continue their popular Nite Spot Nights series, with a special holiday edition, "Christmas Cocktails." The one-night-only musical revue will take place Saturday, December 5th, 8pm,  at the Center for the Arts in Downtown Milford.

The versatile and outrageously talented 2015 MAC Award Nominee is a graduate of the Yale University School of Music, launched a career as a lyric soprano singing diva roles from Lucia di Lammermoor to Madame Butterfly in New York, was a guest soloist with New York Pops at Carnegie Hall and toured with Faye Dunaway in the first national Broadway tour of Master Class.
