Producers Dori Berinstein and Bill Damaschke announced today the complete cast for Gotta Dance, the new Broadway-bound musical about professional basketball's first ever aged 60-and-older dance team. The pre-Broadway World Premiere of Gotta Dance begins this winter at Broadway In Chicago's Bank of America Theatre (18 W Monroe St, Chicago). Gotta Dance begins performances on December 13, 2015 and runs through January 10, 2016.

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the success of the premiere concert reading of the first act of DreamWorks Theatricals new stage adaptation of The Prince of Egypt which was part of Bay Street Theater's 24th Annual Summer Gala which took place in Sag Harbor at the Long Wharf on July 11, 2015 to benefit Bay Street's educational and theatrical programs. ThePrince of Egypt features book by Philip LaZebnik (writer of Mulan, Pocahontas) and music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (composer of Wicked,Pippin, Godspell); both creators attended the Gala. Bay Street's Artistic Director Scott Schwartz directed the reading, Dominic Amendum was Musical Director, and casting was by Stewart/Whitley.

The initial casting for Gotta Dance, the new Broadway-bound musical based on the critically acclaimed 2008 documentary about professional basketball's first ever aged 60-and-older dance team, was announced earlier today, including Tony Award nominee Andre De Shields, five-time Emmy Award nominee Georgia Engel, Tony Award-winner Lillias White, television and film icon Stefanie Powers (making her Broadway debut), Haven Burton, Lori Tan Chinn, and Nancy Ticotin are set to star in the pre-Broadway World Premiere of Gotta Dance this winter at Broadway In Chicago's Bank of America Theatre. Gotta Dance begins performances on December 13, 2015 and runs through January 10, 2016.

Among the locations Channing will be visiting are her childhood home, Twin Peaks, Musicians Union, Frederick Burk Elementary School, Grace Cathedral, Lombard St., Fisherman's Wharf, the Bay and Golden Gate Bridge (which she remembers being built from her home on the hill), the San Francisco Chronicle (where her father and uncle worked), and a very special appearance at Lowell High School at 12:30pm on November 6th, to speak with the students and facility in 'The Carol Channing Theatre' (which she only recently discovered had been named after her).

And the winner of the 8th annual LA'S NEXT GREAT STAGE STAR talent competition is Jennifer Kranz, a senior at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles majoring in Theatre and minoring in Musical Theatre. On Sunday, Feb 16th, Ms. Kranz and 19 other talented young professionals sang their hearts out for the coveted prize. As winner, Ms. Kranz awarded a cash prize of $1000; an upcoming paid headlining concert engagement at Sterling's Upstairs; a vocal demo recording session from Tom Griep's Audition Trax; a photo session with Isaac James Creative; and is already in the process of scheduling meetings to be signed and represented by one of the lucrative competition's Equity Agent/Judges as the first step toward a professional career in musical theatre, television and film.
