The Second Annual Tony Awards Film Series kicked off this weekend, featuring a collection of Broadway inspired films and exclusive interactive opportunities for audiences, including panel discussions with Tony Award winners, a Carol Channing look-a-like contest and sing-a-long. The Tony Awards Film Series is free to the public, with a suggested donation to The Paley Center for Media.

The Tony Awards previously announced the line-up for the 2nd Annual Tony Awards Film Series, which takes place today, May 12th and Sunday, May 13th at The Paley Center for Media. The Antoinette Perry "Tony" Awards, which are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, will be broadcast in a live three-hour ceremony from the Beacon Theatre, on the CBS television network on Sunday, June 10, 2012.

Entertainment One US is releasing Carol Channing: LARGER THAN LIFE in New York and San Francisco on Friday, February 3, following the documentary's successful premiere in Los Angeles on January 20, 2012. The film, directed by Dori Berinstein (ShowBusiness: The Road to Broadway, Some Assembly Required, Gotta Dance), examines the life and career of Tony Award-winning Broadway legend, Carol Channing - her extraordinary stage life, her offstage struggles and survival and the extraordinary storybook romance that found her reunited with her junior high school sweetheart after over 70 years. On Wednesday night, the Paley Center featured these incredible talents as well as gathering many more in the audience for the Los Angeles premiere screening of 'Carol Channing: Larger Than Life.' The panel members, who also appear in the critically acclaimed documentary, gathered with other friends, colleagues and fans of the woman who has been dubbed, and deservingly so, 'The First Lady of Musical Theatre.' Seen among those in attendance were a who's who of TONY, OSCAR, EMMY & GOLDEN GLOBE award winners including George Chakiris, Charles Fox, Davis Gaines, Ilene Graff, Tippi Hedren, Michael Learned, Kate Linder, Julie Newmar, Connie Stevens, Ruta Lee, Rose Marie, Richard Skipper, Barbara Van Orden, Dee Wallace and co-producer, B. Harlan Boll, to enjoy a film that also featured such noted industry greats as Loni Anderson, Marge Champion, Tyne Daly, Jerry Herman, Angela Lansbury, Bob Mackie, Margaret O'Brien, Debbie Reynolds, Chita Rivera, Tommy Tune, Barbara Walters and many more.

The Channing-Kullijian Foundation has released an official obituary for Harry Kullijian, Carol Channing's husband, who, as Broadwayworld previously reported, passed away at the age of 91.

At close to 91 years old, Broadway legend Carol Channing has been performing for nearly three quarters of a century - and has no intentions of slowing down. The actress and singer will host A CAROL CHANNING CHRISTMAS on Wednesday at the Agua Caliente Resort & Casino in Rancho Mirage, California.

The New York City Parks Department, Central Park Conservancy, NYC Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment and IFP will host a free outdoor screening of CAROL CHANNING: LARGER THAN LIFE at Tavern on the Green on on August 17. Before the film, director Dori Berinstein, a Tony Award-winning Broadway producer, will introduce the screening.

On Sunday, July 24th, it's all about the lights and the glamour of...Broadway! NewFest will screen Dori Berinstein's 'Carol Channing: Larger than Life,' a hilarious and excessively sweet documentary about the stage legend. Also on Sunday, Broadway stars Cheyenne Jackson ('Glee,' '30 Rock') and Jason Butler Harner star in Steven Williford's drama 'The Green.' The Broadway block ends with the world premiere of Elisabeth Sperling & Trish Dalton's 'One Night Stand,' which follows various participants in last year's 24 hour musical competition.
