Winner of Inaugural Excellence in Theatre Education Tony Award Announced!

The Tony Awards and Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) have announced Corey Mitchell, Theater Arts Teacher at the Northwest School of the Arts in Charlotte, N.C., as the winner of the inaugural Excellence in Theatre Education Award. This year's finalists were Marianne Adams, Director of Education at the Grandstreet Theatre School in Helena, Mont., and Donald Hicken, Theatre Department Director at the Baltimore School for the Arts in Baltimore, Md.

Everyman Theatre has announced its 25th anniversary season. For the first time ever, the company will present a rotating repertory of two masterpieces of American theatre: Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller and A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams. Both productions will feature the same cast and performances will rotate from day to day. Known as The Great American Rep, this event will take place from April 5 through June 12, 2016.

Everyman Theatre has announced its Thanksgiving Week schedule of performances for its production of the Tony Award-winning play Redby John Logan. The week will consist of added performances on Tuesday, November 26th and no performances on Thanksgiving.

The production will now run from November 6th through December 8th. Everyman Theatre has announced the directors attached to each of its six productions for the upcoming 2013/14 season. Renowned and award-winning director Walter Dallas will be making his Everyman debut with BY THE WAY, MEET VERA STARK next spring. Susanna Gellert, hot off of her work with the MY AMERICA project at Centerstage, will both be making their Everyman Theatre debuts this season. Founding Artistic Director Vincent Lancisi will direct the first and last shows of the season - THE GLASS MENAGERIE and TRIBES, respectively. And returning to Everyman will be two audience favorites - celebrated directors Donald Hicken and Derek Goldman.

Founding Artistic Director Vincent Lancisi will helm two productions during the landmark season, including August: Osage County, which will be the first production at Everyman's new location on Fayette Street in January, 2013. The season will include two productions at the theatre's current location on Charles Street, followed by four productions at the new location on Fayette Street.
