Students from Lawrence Academy of Music will have a chance to appear alongside Broadway performers in Elf the Musical at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center today, November 13-18. The young performers between the ages of 5 and 12 will include Nora Austin, Pippa Austin, Gavin Burkheimer, Eleanora Dane, Izzy Dane, Roseanna Dane, Nathaniel James, August McLaughlin, Sylvia Polansky, Will Scheffler, Maura Tarnowski and Annika Urness.

In March 2012, German director-composer Heiner Goebbels was awarded the prestigious International Ibsen Award for his "genuinely groundbreaking" work. Previous winners include directors Peter Brook and Ariane Mnouchkine. This November, Lincoln Center's White Light Festival presents the celebrated director's staged concert in three tableaus, I went to the house but did not enter, set to texts by T.S. Eliot (The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock), Samuel Beckett (Worstward Ho), Maurice Blanchot (The Madness of the Day), and Franz Kafka ("Excursion into the Mountains"), that unfold as meditations on aging, mortality and the vicissitudes of modern life.

The National Tour of ELF THE MUSICAL will begin performances on November 4, 2012, kickng off at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Rhode Island November 4-10 and will make stops throughout the holiday season, including Appleton, WI (Nov. 13-18, Fox Cities Performing Arts Center); Tampa, FL (Nov. 20-25, Straz Center for the Performing Arts); Fort Myers, FL (Nov. 27 - Dec. 2, Barbara B. Skyline Theatre Company was founded in 1995 by a group of professional artist living in Northern New Jersey to bring quality theater to Bergen County. Managing Artistic Director Sam Scalamoni has worked as Associate Director on Broadway's Lestat and Beauty & The Beast as well as numerous other New York shows. He has directed many of the shows for Skyline and starts their latest season with the hit musical CABARET.

Out of over 100 submissions, ten new plays will receive a staged reading at The Creek and Cave in Long Island City, NY. The Ladder series is scheduled to begin in July and continue into early October.

The Spoon River Anthology travels to Brooklyn where it will receive an all-new production, conceived & directed Jimmy Maize, with music by Eli Zoller, choreography by Jon Cooper & Marine Sialelli, and music direction by Ethan Wagner, and featuring a cast of one-hundred performers, The limited engagement begins performances tonight, April 24 and will continue through this Saturday, April 28 at the Invisible Dog Art Center (51 Bergen Street in Brooklyn).

Edgar Lee Masters' epic work, The Spoon River Anthology, receives an all-new production, of unprecedented scale and scope, conceived & directed Jimmy Maize, with music by Eli Zoller, choreography by Jon Cooper & Marine Sialelli, and music direction by Ethan Wagner, and featuring a cast of one-hundred performers, with two special limited engagements: April 18 - 21 at The Riverside Theatre (91 Claremont Avenue located inside the Riverside Church between 120th and 122nd Streets), in association with Columbia University School of the Arts; and April 24 - 28 at the Invisible Dog Art Center (51 Bergen Street in Brooklyn).

Denver Center Attractions welcomes home James May, Denver native, as Cogsworth in DISNEY'S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. Produced by NETworks Presentations, this theatrical production will come to life on stage at the Buell Theatre March 14-18. The Dallas Opera Guild's 24th Annual Vocal Competition for young opera singers ended on a high-note last evening when ten outstanding finalists (with Texas connections) were awarded a total of $20,000 in prize monies. It is only the second time this spring musical event has graced the stage of the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House at the AT&T Performing Arts Center in the Arts District.
